Do you want only heat or both heat and light?

If you only want heat and no excess light, then get a CHE (ceramic heat emitter). There are different wattages, so you may have to get a couple to test out the right temperature desired.

If you want both heat and more light, then a flood light bulb would work fine. Again, you'll want to test out which wattage works best.

What I would do , is get a par38 flood bulb of name brand, higher wattage and then connect it to a lamp dimmer, so you can adjust your light strength until its perfect for what you need it for.

Another user on her recommended the GE PAR38 90w halogen flood lights. At 1900 lumens that is a very very bright basking light, and it's only at 90 watts which is more energy efficient than some of the other reptile specific basking bulbs.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
