tilting head back, opening mouth

My beardie has been tilting his head back and opening his mouth partially this evening. I have never seen this behaviour before. is it normal?

Yes, though it can also be a sign of something bad.
Beardies will open their mouths to left off some heat, so if he is doing it under a basking lamp, he is essentially just panting like a dog.
Or you could take a picture of it if its not quite that.

He was doing it while under the basking bulb.
I will update if he is doing it tomorrow

Normal gaping because he's feeling a bit too warm while basking posture , he's fine.
