i ordered my first BD just now

heres a picture of him! hes 6 inches long! how old does that mean he is? hes going to come in the mail tuesday and i have to go to the post office to pick him up. i hope me makes it through the mail ok !

He very pretty, I love his coloring. My guess would be about 2 months. The people who you bought from should know his hatch date.

I know how you feel about making it thru the mail. My 2nd beardie will arrive on wednesday traveling from NY to CA. I'm really nervous. I'm glad it wasn't during the x-mas rush. Good Luck with new little one.

hey there, thanks for commenting! im excited , im going back over all the info ive been looking up , so far i have
*offer 15-30 crickets a day (10 crickets 3X a day)
*supply cut greens in a small bowl
*dust ALL crickets with calcium
*dust crickets once a week with vitamins
*bath for 15 minutes a day in the mornings and pat dry

does that sound right? i was just at the store and she said they have pinhead crickets for 23 dollars for 1000

so does it look like the viv is ok and the schedule i have? i was a little concerned if it had enough venting too.... i bet they are packaging him right now, i wonder what color he will grow into, probibly a pinkish peach lol, it will be funny if he gets angry , he will be the angry pink boy!

Most babies will eat more than 30 crickets a day. You want to feed as much as he will eat at each feeding. Dusting the crickets with calcium (one feeding a day) for 5 days, and dusting with vitamins (one feeding) for two days a week, is what is recommended here.

Your set up looks great. Did you build it yourself?

Def. feed 3 times a day and give greens in between. Those small babies need lost of food as they grow so quick the first year. He is a doll. Make sure you post pictures as he grows.

ok, so if i do 2 or 3 feedings a day, i should only dust one of those times? instead of all three or two? and the other times would be without any dusting? then two days no calcium, but instead vitamins for one feeding, and the rest regular also?

Yes, if feeding 3x a day, only dust at one feeding each day. Calcium 5x a week, and multivitamin 2x per week. I hope that made more sense.

Yeah, he could eat 50-100 crix a day, but you can dust just one of those feedings. You can order crix in bulk online for a lot cheaper than $23/1000.

yes i found their website and seen they were posting new babys after the new year so i would stop in once a day to see, and on sunday i woke up from a nap at 3 and they had posted them and had only 3 left lol, i thought they would post more then 7 lol. but im happy with what i picked, and cant wait to get him.
yea i built the cage with help of my boyfriend (ok ok i watched alot of the time) but i did most caulking and painting! we saved on plywood because his dad gave us the plywood he had used for his hurricane shutters! he bought real shutters and so he gave the old ones to us. the cage still has a bit of smell to it from the paint on the inside wheni painted it , so i have the doors of it open and a little fan inside blowing it out . i was thinking about buying a box of baking soda to put in there but im not sure
