How many beardies would you have if you could?

If food, or electricity or tons of enclosures weren't an issue, how many bearded dragons would you have? I have 7 right now, and I want to get a baby again. :shock:

I would have TONS! I can't believe how unique each of their personalities are. We are down to 2 now but are hopeful that Misty & Judas will breed very shortly. It's so neat to start out with a baby again. Are you going to get a baby Laura?

I have to admit....Two would be enough :shock: I would just have them way more spoiled than I do now. Money being no object......wow I hate to think what they would have. lol :mrgreen:

I am highly thinking of it!! I do sometimes feel guilty that they don't all get equal snuggle time, but I try to spread myself out as much as I can. But the fact that most of mine all get along, it's great that I can leave them in my bathroom for free roam time all together. So I switch that out everyday who gets the free roam time, so hell what's another one? And I totally agree they all have such a different personality.

We had to have Sabrina put down 5/31 and Gizmo died in February. Sabrina was 7 yrs and Gizmo was 8 yrs. We miss them terribly!

I can imagine For some reason I thought you had 5. I knew about the 2 that died. So sorry. Sucks bad

Thanks Laura. We had Widge back in 2007, our one-eyed beardie but he had some major deformities besides his eye and only lived to be 2 yrs old. So, we did have a total of 5 altogether. I never thought we'd be down to only 2.

Yeah, I hear you. I always think of all mine living for 10 + years. But in reality I know Molly will not make it that long due to her issues she had when I got her. However, the rest of them, I definitely see them being around for quite a long time. Fingers Crossed!

Well I had 1 for about a year, then acquired another last August, and I've been babysitting the great Dudley for Jess for the last week, so there's 3! Even though I love them I think I wouldn't go over 2 or 3. My lizards hate each other (either that or really want to make babies ) so they have to come out separately *and* in different rooms or there's mad black bearding and headbobbing everywhere. I also like to bring them along on weekends trips so that could be tough with too many.

I gave all 3 lizards a bath yesterday and that took nearly 45 minutes! I just don't think I have enough time for more :lol: Now if they all got along all the time I might be willing to have around 5. You are lucky Laura, lol!

That's why I have mostly girls because they all get along together And then I have Hercules who thinks he's a girl, and he can actually hang with the girls with no issue. My 2 boys Phred and Ollie on the other hand, can't be near another dragon without wanting to either fight them or breed them. :lol:

We have 12 BD now, and I would take on another 3 0r 4! However we have 5 children so there is 7 of us in the house to give the dragons attetion. They all are housed in there own "condo's" so space is our only issue!

Hi,
We have 4 rescues, 2 adults and 2 juvies. My husband is thinking of getting a baby to raise since we have never raise one from hatchling.
I, on the other hand think getting another rescue would be wonderful. They so need us! Maybe we'll compromise, he can get his baby and I can save another dragon!
