When to change MVB?

I have a MegaRay 100w SB bulb. When should I change it. I've been using it about 15 months now.

You're supposed to get a new one every 12 months.

mega-rays are known to last 18 months if not more.

The typical advice for a MVB is to replace every 12 months, but as kevin pointed out, you can sometimes squeeze a bit more life out of the MegaRay as the quality of this bulb is excellent, and it's UVB rays supreme.

For safety and health's sake however, I would go about securing a new one at your earliest possible opportunity.

Even though the light may last 18+ months the UVB output is close to nothing at that point
I've been told to replace it every 9-12 months for constant maximum UVB output

That's probably just a way for companies to make money but to be on the safe side yea, i see what you are sayin. For some reason my first Mega-Ray only lasted about 4 months then I got a new one for free cause of warranty. So I have a long time to go on this newer Mega-Ray.
