Vitamin Mistake

Per my post in the "Feeding forum," I'm a complete novice. And I've goofed. For the past few weeks I've given my bearded dragon vitamin power with phosphorous instead of without. It's about 8 months. How concerned should I be?

don't panic - there's not a lot you can do, just make sure you get it right for the future.
As long as it wasn't very high doses it shouldn't have done too much harm as long as you aren't using a mercury vapour bulb for uvb

its ok. I was using a calcium with phosphorous for quite some time, because I dont know untill he was alomost a year old. I do have a merc bulb and Judah has been no worse for wear, he is very healthy. Just switch it out.

it's a greater risk with a mvb, rarely a problem with a tube - glad yours didn't suffer any ill effects JH

Yeah thankfully they are pretty resilant. :shock: I think it was prolly just such a small amount since I was only dusting the crickets with it every other day. Live and learn! Thats way we are all here! :wink:

Eek. I do have a mercury vapor bulb. I was doing this every day, but for about 3 weeks. Is that enough to cause major problems? Can anything be done to fix them?
Appreciate the help. And glad to hear that someone else has done this, at least.

he should be fine. Unless he is acting strange or out of the ordinary it should be fine. Just start using the other type from now on.
