Could he be feeling unsupported on his hammock? I know they whip their tail when they don't feel secure i.e. if you don't support their full body when you pick them up. I found this info on tail whipping which may help (that is if spike is not definately a boy) :

Tail Whipping - There are two different tail whipping motions, one being the motion of the tail whipping around in circles while a dragon is being picked up. This happens when the dragon feels it is not securely being held. Tod avoid this always support the hind legs and tail as well as the rest of the underside of the dragon when picking it up and holding it. The second tail whipping motion is displayed by females during mating displays. This is their way of attracting the males and getting their attention to let them know that they are willing to mate.

yea i would say he doesn't feel supported enough. Is it when you put him in the hammock or when he climbs up there himself?

From your videos you can tell you know how to hold him cuase he obviously trusts you pretty well. that weird though that he puts himself in a situation of being uncomfortable but then again they are just babies and beardies aren't the most intelligent of the lizard world.

Yea but they grow at very different paces. once you get that reptisun i bet he will shoot up quick too. If you look on alot of breeders websites they have a wide range of sizes around the same age so it's perfectly normal for them not to grow as quickly.also try that dusting schedule i suggested of calcium every morning and vitamins every other morning(blend the calcium and vitamins together when you dust em wont matter).

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
