Tiles in tank?

Tiles work great, and also help keep their nails trimmed down. Make sure not to use something slippery like laminate, others with more grip like slate tile works best.

Yes I use it and my dragon likes it better than anything I have tried. It keeps her nails trimmed, easy to clean up the little treasures they leave behind for us slaves and doesn't hold moisture or bacteria.

I have been reading some people use tiles in their tanks. Is this something any of you do?

I do, I decided to avoid any lose substrate until my dragon grows a bit bigger, at which point I plan to use a 60/40 mix of lime free top soil and play sand over 30% of the tank and keep the rest as slate tiles.
my tank is 5 ft in length so I have plenty of room and want to add a section for it to dig if it wants to.
The tile is great though and easy to pull out once a week and give a good clean, also easy to spot clean during the week and saves money on replacing a substrate when there young and pooing daily :)

Edit : I think it looks ok and he seems content sitting on it watching tv

I would post pic of what I have set up to show everyone but I do not know how to post pics on here?...

I have used tiles since having my beardy. However i did find that using paving slabs (we call them in the UK) or some garden tiles work better for keeping nails down because they have a rough surface but its not rough enough to cause them damage

I personally don't use tiles, but it's a good option, it keeps their nails trimmed and they will stay warm from the heat during the day, so that it's warm at night. What I use is the bricks of ZooMed coconut fiber, I use it dry. It's digestible incase they ingest it, and it can look kinda like sand. The liner that you can get at pet stores isn't as safe as you might think it is though. It took one of the long toes of my beardys back foot, so now he's missing a long toe. So tile is a good option, but it's best to get one that's not slick so that they can get a grip.

Can you tell me where you usually get the slate tile?
Ceramic floor tile is what I use, I get it at Lowes. Just get the rough textured tile.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
