Tail discolored

What is causing his tail to darken? Thank you.

Hi there, just looks like a dark stained shed. It should come off in the near future but if he enjoys soaks you can do a 10 minute warm soak every few days or lightly spray him in his tank if the humidity is low. Other than that it will still come off on it's own.
