Rheostat?

I need help using a rheostat, any help? Can I use a light and heat mat on it it? And what setting should it be on?

Depends what kind of light. Not the MVBs that's for sure. A Heat mat ? It's on the side not underneath is it ?

Yes. Just set the temp and walk away !

You will want to check on it several times through out the day, keeping a journal day to day, helps as well. This way you can check temps, note it down and should anything come amiss, you have a daily record to go by.
