Thats a good point. Another thing to keep in mind is changing seasons. I use 100 watt T-Rex Active UVB MVBs in both of my 40 gallon breeders which is essentially the same thing as the MegaRay. The bulbs are the min 12" from the basking spot and i have trouble with them getting too hot in the summer.
Previously i had the PowerSun by ZooMed and the bulb ran a lot cooler than the T-Rex and burned out within 3 months :roll:
If you do decide to use a MVB in a 29 gallon - you will have to monitor the temps very closely at the initial setup and during season changes.
