How can I be sure a CHE wouldn't melt my dubia container?

I want to get a CHE because I think it would be better for my dubia's than a heating pad but I am afraid my plastic will melt. What watt should I get? Any suggestions?

I think you've already seen my colony. I currently use a 100 watt CHE with a thermostat.

Like jodyberry said don't use it unless you have a thermostat. I would lay my paycheck says it would melt it. You don't want your house burning down over some roaches lol

Exactly! I think I tested it one time without the thermostat and it had a surface temp of almost 500 degrees!
