hi my dragon isnt acting normal

for the last week i hav3e been feeding him and i have noticed he isnt passing bowel movments could this be cause its getting colder outside ? could this be a sigh of somfing bad ? help please

How long have you had him? whats he eating? what lights are you using? how old is he?

I have had him since last june hes almoest a year is my gues i feed him spinich and lettuse and crickits but laytly the pet stores have no bugs left so i havent been able to feed him bugs for 3weeks. He has a huge custm tank but im still working on fing proper lighting units i have the basking lights heating one side all about 75watt pluss a red heat lamp for night cause getss cold also 75w i have a rep glo compact bulb. He isnt running round anymore eaither he just lays ther all day now but as soon as i open the tank for anything and my arm is in it he runs for my arm and climbs to get out so i carry him around for a bit.he has an old injury tho from back when the store had him they say He was in fight and lost his toes but the vet sais somthing crushd them. They heeld up wel sinnce i took hiim home the store wasent treating him

First of all, spinach and lettuce are not good things to feed bearded dragons, you should stop that straight away! Check this site for info on what to feed him:

Next, it's not good that he's had no bugs for three weeks! I'd advise you buy your bugs online in bulk, then it doesn't matter if the pet stores have them and they will be a lot cheaper! You'll just need a tank of some sort to keep them in.

As for the red heat lamp for night time, you probably want to get rid of that and get a ceramic heater, linked up to a thermostat or a timer so that it comes on intermittently throughout the night. Although they say that the red lamps don't disturb them, it's not entirely true!

Have you checked all the temperatures with a digital thermometer and do you have a uv light in there?

You also may want to get rid of the Reptiglo and also stray from a coil flourecent lamp. Stick w/ a REPTISUN 10 straight tube. Also what are the temps in the tank? Are you giving him vitamins?

I agree lack of food and the bad UVB are effecting him. If he dosnt have good UVB (such as the reptiSUN or the arcadis12% in the UK) he wont be able to digest anything, and wont have the energy to be runing around.

I suggest you get the UVB tube online, its much cheaper. (petmountain.com if in the US, or livefoods.co.uk if UK)

Canada for thoes that dont know, but ok il try some stuff thnx. As for buying bulk. Not tha simple i dont have credit card, the last time someone bought bulk for me half the bugs were dead apun arivel. I am curently giving him calciam vitamens he still drinks on his own

I know there are a few members on here that get the lights shipped to canada, id say that was the main issue. Have you thought about breeding your own bugs? I do it with Supers ( well i get 1kg, and it lasts me about 8 months so im assumin there doing the nasty!) If they do arrive dead, you can ring up and complain, usually they send more out. I have had to do it. The company should be packing/ insulating them properly, its what you are paying for after all, so if they are dead you are entiled to a replacement or refund!

Can one of the pet shops order a reptisun in for you??
