Dependable basking bulb?

Right now I'm using the zoo med 100 watt bulbs, and they produce the perfect amount of heat for me, but damn these things burn out quick. What do you guys use and have good luck with?

Hi. I use a halogen flood bulb. You can also use a regular house hold bulb.

Save your receipt and take them back. The store close to me went through a bad batch. They are supposed to last something like 5,000 hours. All of mine were warrentied. I went through 4 that didn'teven last a month. The one I have now has lasted about 3 months. It should be going out soon.

Par 38 halogens are the way to go. Even the cheap ones work great. Just get a high enough lumen count
