Darker at end of tail

My Dragons tail seems to have gotten darker towards the end of his tail. Am I just being a worry wart or does this mean something? Would it just be his colours changing with age?

I know I was told that my dragons darkening end of his tail is just colour change that has come with age but it still has me worried.

He is still not eating. I have cut him off worms for now because I was told he was a bit spoiled and I need to get his eating habbits under control. He has different salads all day everyday with crickets offerd at the end of the day which he will eat neither of.

He is just finishing a small shed around his mouth so could that be the reason for not eating in 3 days?
He was never botherd by his sheds when he was younger but i guess they change with age maybe?

Im just worried the lack of appetite and the darkening tail could be related? Its not tail rot or anything? He hasnt shed since november before this mouth shed so its not any retained shed on his tail.

I guess Im just looking for some reassurance.

That's just shed that will come off in time. As for his appetite, he might just be picky but if you're really concerned you might have a fecal test done to be sure that parasites aren't causing an issue. But he looks quite healthy over all, and even if he has parasites they can usually be taken care of easily.

So you think his tail is just going into shed then because yeah this just started colour changing in the last few days and i guess that makes sense since his mouth is shedding

He had a fecal done last month and was treated for parasites and then a week after treatment I had another fecal done to make sure everything was clear and it was which was about 2 weeks ago now.

I gave him a bit of benebac today just incase he is a bit stressed and needs that good bacteria to help his appetite.


Ahhh never ending worry with these little guys! Lol

Also if you do think I should have another fecal done I will. Like I said he had his last one recently but if parasites can return that fast I will have another.

We also steamed cleaned everything of his and got rid of all his feeders and bought new ones straight from a feeder farm when we did his panacur treatment.

Oh, if he was just treated for parasites then he should bounce back. It's probably a combo of shedding and having had the treatment.

Ok so I guess it's back to my worry waiting game for this tail to shed and his appetite to come back lol.

It might be that he's just missing his worms, too. Don't be worried too much.....he'll get to eating again . Keep trying the crickets for a while, always offer salad, at least 2-3 X a week until he starts eating them but superworms can still be part of his diet.

Ok will do. How long should I let him go without any food for tho. Today is day 3. I still offer but hes not eaten. I have carnivore care and I can also make a veggie slurry.

Or should I just wait untill he gets hungry enough to eat his salad before I offer any sort of worms again?
