Hi.
I dont really know what to tell you to do until you get him to the vet other than try to fix his viv where he cant climb and hurt himself any further. You may have to lower his basking spot.
Hope your beardie is ok. Did he injure himself, or is he just holding his leg funny?
Sounds like he needs to see the vet right away. A broken leg isnt something that will heal ok without seeing a vet.
i wouldnt advise attempting to splint his leg if you are not sure what to do. You could end up really hurting him.
As Jiffy said, remove anything high in his viv to stop him trying to climb, and get yourself in at the vets for an xray right away.
Idtake him for an emergancy appointment.
ou need to take him to a herp vet. My Twitch, r.i.p, broke him leg and they splinted it and put it in a cast. Take everyting out of his cage for now, even bowls and block of half of the tank so he only has a little bit of room. The key is cage rest. The vet will either cast it/ splint it or tell you cage rest. Do not try to do fix the leg on your own. Can you post a pic of his leg?
I agree get to the vet asap! But DO NOT SPLINT the leg to the body!! Without knowing the severity of the injury or the location of the break you will only risk further injury, and more pain to your pet. Also if you move the leg the wrong way, you may spook your beardie causing him to thrash/run away. Your BD should be able to keep his own weight off the leg, and favour his good arm. If anything you could try wrapping him in a towel just to keep him still. Adding support to the injured leg without moving it may help him relax a bit until the vet can ascess the situation.
