Of course babies are adorable, but I really think you need to take better care of the beardie you have before you get any more. :| Im honestly not trying to be rude, but by your description of your beardie and your care that youve given us, he doesnt seem all that healthy.

I agree they are very cute.Cute however should never be a reason to get an animal. If I brought every animal that I thought was cute home then I would need an ark! There are too many unwanted and maltreated animals in this world because cute took over where reason should have applied.I instead prefer to concentrate all of my efforts on the animals I do have and ensuring that they are living happy and healthy lives.

I couldn't agree more with you,
My family and I have been breeding dogs (German Shepherds and Papillons) for years and have seen the exact situation you described many times, we've had to be very particular about who we sell puppies or kittens to because f it.

We currently have 9 kittens living with us that will be looking for homes soon, all are typical domestic mix cats, but one of which happend to be born with partial albinoism (siamese/himilayan markings) we've decided to keep her, but everyone that comes by asks if they can have her. We even had one girl come by saying that she lived in an apartment with a German Shepherd (Which as an owner and breeder of the breed, I believe is cruel enough in it's self) and that her room-mate had a cat, and that her dog had problems with the current cat living there so naturually we tried to convince her not to take a kitten from us and her responce was "It's okay, I'll just keep it in my room" I was completley apauled by this,

I really think it's become an issue how anyone can walk into a pet store and buy a pet, there are so many irresponsable people out there that buy pets spur of the moment then relize how much of an incconvience it is find a new home for it, I can't even begin to imagine how stressful it is for the animals.

Thats good to know.

Now back to the conversation I really think people should be required to have a waiting period before they are actually allowed to finalize the deal.I would bet so many people who actually had a few minutes to think would stop themselves from making that compulsive purchase.

Can you post a pic of him?
If I remember right, you said he was 15" at a year old. I have a feeling that our ideas of what a healthy beardie looks like are a bit different...

Not the point of the conversation so lets not go there

I've seen the amount of people giving up dragons, Both on this site and over the pond..
Majority of people buying them because there`cool`
i no so many people who either don't want there`s any more or left them too die from improper care
People really need better grounds to buy them because there `cute`
I would really think about if you can really handle more dragons..

I always feel so sad when I look at like Craigslist and there's always a ton of beardies listed. (Balls and leopards too!)

I hate how many people will just get something that's small and cute at the pet store and then get rid of it a few months later when it's not as small and eating a ton of crickets every day. Then again they do it with kittens and puppies and everything else too. People are just mean :(

Baby beardies are adorable, but having one I honestly can't wait for him to get grown up where he'll like to cuddle and won't teleport as much haha.

There have been sooo many times when i've wanted to get another beardie, because the one i have is so awesome i think it would be great to have more. But then i actually think about what it would be like to have another one and divide my attention among them. I don't know that i could raise them with the same care & attention i'm giving the one i have now. Plus, my cat would be really PO'd. LOL!

Just my 2cents, but i guess it really depends on how much free time you have and space, to keep them all in separate vivs.

We can all agree that baby dragons area adorable, but they are a lot of work. I currently have six little ones and they are great. eating isn't too bad yet since they all aren't in their growth spurt, but my two slightly older ones are monsters. I love all of them, and attention isn't difficult as long as you allot your time with them. I do have my favorite of the lot, but they all get proper care and quality cuddle time. I only decided to get my babies after I had contemplated the costs with my fiance and the time needed. I knew the routine from my brother who has three lizards that I was caring for before I got the dragons. But I do have to agree that you really need to think before you purchase another animal. They are great and will be a great pet, but they do require a lot of attention and time that you need to be sure you can provide to raise them properly.

We are not saying these things to be rude or critical, but merely as facts from experience. Most of us have own or owned multiple dragons, but did not just purchase because of the cute factor. It is a decision reached after deliberation and knowing we can provide proper care.

I agree... Babies are ALOT of work! When I saved my first baby, Wink, from being put to sleep I had no idea how much he would cost. It was ridiculous how much money I spent on the little guy. Personally, I would never get another baby again. I adopted Dudley at 2 years old, and IMO he is at the perfect age. Personally, I always adopt animals because there are so many needing homes. I dont buy from breeders or pet stores... Those poor old beardies on CL need a home alot more than that cute little baby at the pet store does!

(BTW, sorry about my earlier comment...)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
