I agree they are very cute.Cute however should never be a reason to get an animal. If I brought every animal that I thought was cute home then I would need an ark! There are too many unwanted and maltreated animals in this world because cute took over where reason should have applied.I instead prefer to concentrate all of my efforts on the animals I do have and ensuring that they are living happy and healthy lives.
I couldn't agree more with you,
My family and I have been breeding dogs (German Shepherds and Papillons) for years and have seen the exact situation you described many times, we've had to be very particular about who we sell puppies or kittens to because f it.
We currently have 9 kittens living with us that will be looking for homes soon, all are typical domestic mix cats, but one of which happend to be born with partial albinoism (siamese/himilayan markings) we've decided to keep her, but everyone that comes by asks if they can have her. We even had one girl come by saying that she lived in an apartment with a German Shepherd (Which as an owner and breeder of the breed, I believe is cruel enough in it's self) and that her room-mate had a cat, and that her dog had problems with the current cat living there so naturually we tried to convince her not to take a kitten from us and her responce was "It's okay, I'll just keep it in my room" I was completley apauled by this,
I really think it's become an issue how anyone can walk into a pet store and buy a pet, there are so many irresponsable people out there that buy pets spur of the moment then relize how much of an incconvience it is find a new home for it, I can't even begin to imagine how stressful it is for the animals.
