I was hoping that the sun would do some justice for the image but after looking at the enclosure pics I believe my photography skills need more than just a little help

Hello,

It almost looks like an abscess possibly? Can you think of anything that could have injured his tail there, or
possibly a cricket or worm bite that got infected?
I would try some silver gel, or raw unpasteurized honey on it to see if that helps to clear that up.

Hi Tracie
We can't think of anything that may have injured him. Unless it was in his enclosure of which we don't feed him inside and we try to keep decor free from what we would think is injury free but anything is possible. We're doing the betadine and manuka honey treatment until we get him an appointment. Are we helping or hindering?

Hello,

No problem, you are doing everything you can for him. If it doesn't seem to be getting any worse,
then it is definitely helping him. Sometimes tails just seem to have trouble, maybe a shed problem or it
simply got caught or hit it on something, it's hard to determine.
How is he doing today?

So, we've been using the betadine and manuka honey on Perseus' tail and it looks as though it is clearing up. However, we're going to make an appointment with a vet we had spoken to at the expo. Which is also listed with the site Karri has hooked us up with.
Thanks everyone

So here's an update on Perseus tail. It's not looking as sore as before and it's looking somewhat dark. I've posted this pic with this update and I hope it's getting better. The vet visit is not for another week. What can we expect from the vet?

That maybe he needs to be on a medication? I am not sure what the vet is gonna say exactly since I cannot see the future:_)

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
