Hey guys, it't been a while since I posted any pics of Tyrus (formerly Deanie) As some of you know we had a quick bout with MBD, I corrected all husbandry errors and hes been growing like a weed since.

LOL! I've had my fingers licked because of my nail polish color too!

Which reminds me, yesterday I was giving Fiz some calcium dusted crickets. I dust the crickets in a plastic bag with the little thing you zip back and forth to seal & open the bag. Well the zipper handle thing is a bright red color, and Fiz was more interested in eating the zipper thing than the bugs! It was hilarious! I had to cover up the zipper thing with my hand so he would pay more attention to the crickets and not the bright red plastic piece!

An underwater picture looking the length of Boogs (wood turtle) tank. I brought him a feeder fish from
The petstore... Unfortunately I've become attached to the little guy and don't want boog to eat him lol

Oh my gosh Ty has gotten so big! I was looking at the baby picture and was like "Aw! That's the cutest!" and then I scroll down and then I'm like "OMG HE'S SO HUGE!" He looks like a giant compared to his baby pictures! So cute!

Get a good picture of Boog sometime soon if you can, I really want to see what he looks like! Aw, poor fishy! Oh well, Boog has to eat, right?

Aw! Herbie is so cute! He reminds me of my dog because my dog sleeps all of the time too :D

When I found that Teeny Tyrus picture I laughed out loud from disbelief.

I took these pics of Boog last week before I changed his tank around. Normally I scrub him down with a firm bristle brush once every couple weeks. He absolutely hates it but it helps to keep the algae off his shell. Anyway long story short lol he's very green due to my lack of shell cleaning diligence

He puffs his throat out when breathing and it makes his face look cute and round.

Side shot, he loves to climb his waterfall to hang out.

His old tank setup, just to clarify he still has the same tank new objects.

And a boog butt LOL

Your turtle is so sweet with his round face. It reminds me of my Phrog. :D if I could stand the sound of running water, I would have turtles. The more I look at them in the reptile shop I find them fascinating. They have funny faces.

Tyrus, as always, is very handsome and happy looking. :D his itty bitty pics are so cute.

Boog is so cute! What kind of turtle is he? He's very adorable! I think it's kind of neat how you can give them feeder fish. It's like crickets for beardies! :D

Haha but I love the tiny Tyrus pictures!

Kalyn,
I love the before and after pics of Tyrus. I'ts so amazing how they change, and fast too. Boog is very cute. We have a red eared slider turtle, she's alot of fun. I just posted pisc of her in Tazz and Zeppelins thread.
I also wanted to say thank you. You were the first person to help me when I was new to this forum and I really appreciate your help. I had a lot to learn back then.
Thanks again, Amy

Sorry about my late reply, my internet on my phone has been on and off lately.

When I got Boog, I knew ablsolutely nothing about turtles.. bad Kalyn. In any case I've been extremely lucky in how healthy Boogie is. He's a lot more work than my Beardies but I love him anyway. When I turn the two constantly running filters off for cleaning I cannot stand the quiet of my house lol visitors on the other hand tend to get annoyed and then they forget about it...Kind of like when you live near a train track. When buying a turtle make sure to think long term lol Boog could live to be 35yrs or older. He's 9 right now.

Thank You, hes my little buddy..well at 600g hes not very little lol but still. He is an Ornate wood Turtle of the R. p. manni subspecies. I love him to death! About a year after I got him he fell over in his tank and cracked his shell, scared me so badly! His shell is all healed up now thank goodness, I had to put iodine from my vet on it which he hated. Most wood turtles prefer more land than water, not Boog he loves the water! hardly ever gets out of it lol.

Thank You for the very kind words Amy, I am so thankful for all the help I received on this site when Tyrus was a baby. Between the URI and then the MBD the caring people on this site saved my Tyrus' life. So here I am trying to repay my debt to bd.org lol. I will have to take a peek at the RES pics. They are very personable turtles as well.

I never even realized how much they change in the first year as I aquired Hoodoo at 1yr old. It has been an amazing journey!

Hey everyone, I have been shoveling snow the last few days so no time for updates.

Tyrus is doing well, he's starting to cut back on protein on his own. My little guy is growing up  he has always loved his salads, so much so when he was a baby I would have to feed protein first then give him his salad otherwise he would fill up on greens everyday. Now it's salad first bugs later lol

Every morning Ty blows himself up into a balloon and stretches soaking up the uv. As soon as I walk in he deflates. I tried to get a pic today however they are a little blurry

Already deflating

And heres Hoodoo this morning giving me the stink eye after serrapeptase.

I love the balloon-beardie look. LOL!!!! Scarlet and Ginger do it, too. It's so funny. Scarlet really blows out her beard much farther than Ginger, too.

Hoodoo's stink eye is classic. It's more like a lazy stink eye in that picture, like you are not worth the effort for a full-blown stink eye. HAHAHA

Thats funny when they have their beards partial out it makes them look like they have the mumps ha ha Does Ty blow himself one minute then go flat as a pancake the next?

He pancakes while he's blowing up lol. His routine stretches, it's like a ritual he goes through every morning. Hoodoo has decided to lay himself out on his plant today. I'll get a pic

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
