Tail rot?

His tail has been like this for a while, I thought it was normal until I saw a post about tail rot or shedding problems. Could this be a problem

To me that looks like a normal tail, if you manipulate it it should still bend and be "squishy", be gentle. Fred was nipped when he was a baby and so grew up with the end of his tail (.5 inch) which had a sort of pinch on it. This past week it finally fell off however prior to it coming off it was hard, felt dry and just felt empty. I think the biggest thing to watch for is how it feels... is it hard or feel like it doesn't bend?

Dark tails are pretty normal for many dragons. Tail rot can be seen....there will be some type of trauma , it may look very skinny, almost twig like at certain points. Sometimes it causes a red area to appear where scales have fallen off. Their tails are actually always kind of stiff + rigid, but like Ruben said, they will be more so with tail rot, so you should also go by appearance.

I guess it's not, his tail feels like the rest of the tail and he can move it fine, i was just being cautious. Thanks for the answers

Looks fine to me. It's normal for their tails to darken in color toward the tip. Tail rot would show up more like damage. An open wound or shriveling. I don't see anything to worry about in those photos.

Hello,

I agree, I think the tail looks perfectly fine & doesn't have any odd looking skin irregularities either.
Their tails do many times look dark prior to a shed. It should be perfectly fine & hopefully the shed will go well!
