sleeping to much???

Is it bad if my beardie is sleeping a lot? I had one before that passed away and he started sleeping all the time. Now I'm sk scared something is going to happen again.

how old is your beardie? What setup do you have him in? Whats the temps on basking side and cool side? What are you feeding him? These are questions that many need to know to make a guess at what might be going on.

I'm nit sure how ilf he is exactly. Hes a little over 5 inches and I believe him to be between 2 and 3 months. He eats crickets dusted with calcium and has kale carrots and mustard greens for his vegetables. His basking side is around 100 but I'm not sure about his cool side. The humidity stays between 40 to 45.

What are you using to measure temps?
5 inches sounds like your beardie is only 5 weeks old. Not 2 or 3 months.

Are the crickets the size of the space between the beardie's eyes?
What UVB do you have?

We just use the one that sticks to the cage to measure the temp but ive recently been told that's not good enough the crickets r the space between his eyes and he is still looping regularly. And its a tube uvb

Okay, what brand tube UVB? And you need to get a thermometer with probe or temp gun. That stick on thermometer is extremely inaccurate. Your beardie may be too cold. Does he looks black or dark grey? Being too cold can make a beardie awfully sleepy because they are cold blooded. And cold blooded means you need heat to get moving.

I'm not sure what the brand is...it came in the kit ghat I bought. The food and some other things that came in the kit were ht zoomed buy I'm not sure ifthats what the might is. I will be getting a new thermometer for him. His skin isn't black or grey...its the same as when we brought him home.

Hmm, well the best UVB bulbs to get are the Reptisun 10.0 or Arcadia 12%. Both tubes, here is a site where you can get the Reptisun for cheap. http://www.petmountain.com/ What color was he when you got him?

He was a dark green and orange. But not dark like black dark, just darker than the other ones I've seen. But all his colors r different that what I've seen so Idk if its normal or not
