Update guys. i have change some decor in his enclosure but begging to think my UVB is wrong as the last couple of days he’s been glass surfing and rubbing on the glass non stop to the point his nose is changing colour. the UVB i’ve got is the arcadia 12% T5 39W and i think it’s too long. it covers the whole viv so today i’m setting up a 24W so that he can have a more shaded area to see if that helps. basking temp is 41 ish surface 39 and cold end is between 26-29. diet hasn’t changed. anything else i can do as it’s been constant and i’m worried he’s going to hurt himself

He does need to be able to get out of the UVB --- they go thru spring zoomies so that may be the reason for the glass surfing as well - but do change out the 39 to a 24 and see what he does

so he now has a 24W which covers about half of the enclosure. i put it on an angle so it covers the basking spot but now the other end is a bit dark so thinking of getting some LED strips to brighten it up. is this set up all correct?

What is the distance from the UVB to the basking decor piece ? It should be 12-15 inches pic looks a lot higher

it’s about 40 cm from the basking spot and i’ve put in a branch now next to it so he can get closer if he wants to

so it’s 45cm from the basking platform and the closest he can get to it is 30 Cm. i have no way to hang it lower as it’s not a screen top cage. is he still going to get enough UVB or do i need to mount it length ways?

As long as he can get under w/ distance 12-15 inches he's good- if he has options that's even better

yes seems all good. i’ve been away the past couple days but doesn’t seem to be glass surfing when i’m home

That is great to hear, I'm glad the new lighting has been helping out so much. At least he isn't
surfing now, perhaps he is a bit happier with his setup.
