Surfing and the zoomies ( back and forth)

Hey guys my Amber is a love bug and she has grown so attached to me that she will zoom and scratch the side of her enclosure to come out even if it's just to hangout. Plus the fact that she refuses to poop in her enclosure and instead poops outside her enclosure isn't what worries me (or helps the situation).

She does this odd behavior were she will run or climb around her enclosure and decor (basking spot hammock platforms and both hides). She will seem to zoom around and I have come in to my room to check on her in her enclosure she will be in her hide for a few mins/seconds then pop out and climb up under her lights again.

I'm concerned because I have never once seen her go in her hide for a few moments then reappear and climb under her lights it's like she has endless energy 😅.

Please tell me it's normal and I'm being overprotective and worrying for nothing 🤣

Note: My Chubbs is extremely laid back she is wicked chilled out unless she interacts with Amber when they are being territorial otherwise they both relax outside the enclosure together

That's pretty normal. My toothless is almost two and he'll do the same thing, especially when he spots one of our others. Some are more laid back, like my nova who just side-eyes everyone, or who constantly wants out to run around, like Toothless. I've learned a lot of times the begging to come out is either, they need to poop or there's something outside the enclosure they want. I.e., can see bugs, see another lizard, want to run around, etc.

I agree with Acidburn.
Also they just came out of brumation so tons of energy and probably tons of hormones.

My Amber will only poop outside her enclosure so she's always wanting to come out for that reason plus she was a bit special so she was handled a ton.

My Chubbs will literally be in her cage basking and relaxing all day but once she sees me take Amber out or vise versa she will bob and go ballistic.

So I can't favor one over the other but once they are both out they realize if they fight they will be separated so they calm down and then relax.

Very true you wouldn't think a beardie could move and zoom so fast 😆 once the nice weather comes they will have tons of space in my yard to run around (obviously under strict supervision).

Though Chubbs is a bit more cautious and will stay close to me (birds squirrels planes hawks etc) since she wasn't allowed outside her enclosure or outside by her previous owner.

Amber will cruise and roam since I have been giving her outside time since she was a hatchling (almost 4 yrs old now) so she's extremely calm and carefree of her surroundings.

It's fantastic they get outside time. It's great enrichment and the real sun is geat for them.
We may be moving back to Las Vegas in a month or so, my guys all loved the sun there. Over 300 days a year os sunshine. I've been in Washington since January and maybe have seen 10 days of sun. And it's cold, was 42° this morning so I can't take them outside yet.

My name is Amber. 😂😂

All five of mine aren't fans of outside. I live in Georgia so lots of trees and birds and they're constantly acting like the sun itself will swoop down to eat them when they're outside. But nova, my fat girl, will sit in my hand in the window whenever we're in the car, like a dog. They're such weird animals 😂😂

Same here if it's 80+ and sunny I'll bring them outside for a bit once they seek the shade or climb on me though I'll bring them back in.

My only worry is stress Amber does fine but Chubbs like I said is the one who gets stressed over noises planes and birds. I will bring Chubbs in before it gets too much I have tried for many many years to desensitize her but it's been a long process and I'm just glad she willing to go out you know?

Amber adores the sun big time

Note: Pics are a few years old not recent

My Chubbs is extremely hesitant when she's outside she can only take so much I have a bunch of small birds and a occasional hawk.

I only let them roam when no hawks are around otherwise they stay with me

I can feel her staring into my soul demanding food
She was having a staring contest with a mealworm. I guess I never taught her to not play with her food, lol.
