I got some slate tiles for the floor of my future dragon's tank, and am wondering if I could silicone some to the back of the tank, or will it be too heavy and fall off?

That's helpful to know, but not what I asked. I'll rephrase, are you gluing these in place on the floor, or making a shelf. If a shelf, what is going on them?

Sorry about that :)
I would glue/silicone them flat against the back glass.

For what purpose? As a background? Will they be on the floor of the tank or a few inches up?

I have the ridged 3x6 tiles siliconed across all 4 sides of my viv. My beardie loves having it. She rubs it alot while shedding, stands on it to look around, and gives her the chance to hide from the cat without going into her hide log. I do kinda wish that i did not do it though, it will not come off unless you use some pretty harsh chems to break down the silicone. Keep that in mind if you decide to do it, its pretty much there for good.

I believe they even have some that looks like tile. It is pretty neat stuff and it is made for the back of the stove so it is extremely heat resistant and doesn't give off harmful fumes.

If you are wanting a background they make backsplashes with a plastic called thermoplastic and it is lightweight. It's what I am planning to use on the 75 gallon I got. I would be affraid the tile would fall an injure your beardie. This is the backsplash stuff:

That is actually really cool looking and different. Also cheaper than the faux backgrounds you get it the bigger pet stores,.
Nice find :)
