Have no idea, but there's something going through her head. And MoMo, too, maybe to do with Pookie's empty house? They can be hard to decipher sometimes. I think they're both coming to terms with Digi and Pookie being gone. Maybe they'll get along better now.

Wow! I cannot believe just how smart Gianna is!

A few minutes after taking her out of her house then placing her onto Zim's bed this morning, I suddenly heard nail tapping on plastic sounds, but couldn't see her anywhere from where I was sitting on the couch. My curiosity finally got the best of me (because she hadn't made her bee-line to her window perch yet) and I stood up to look for her. What I saw was far from what I was expecting to see (a beardie in a dog's food bowl): Gianna had her hands in the water to Zim's water bowl catch tray, and she was drinking! SHE WAS DRINKING WATER!! I had no idea that she knew there was water in there. But wait, there's more! She did it again earlier this afternoon!

Just like her Daddy, she took matters into her own hands. (if she had waited a few minutes, I would've given her water)

Awww, she's finding ways to surprise you more often now. Good girl Gianna, wish mine would drink water, I still have to give by syringe.

Boy, my house is full of amazement these days!

While giving water to MoMo this morning, I had momentarily stopped to allow her to swallow what she'd stored in her beard and then push it down to her tummy. Well, apparently I waited too long because she suddenly stretched her neck towards the dropper, bumped it with the tip of her mouth, then licked it. Of course, I immediately complied and started dripping water into her mouth. Then, I waited again to allow her to swallow, and again she bumped the dropper. She did this three times!

Then, on Saturday, Zim amazed me with his ability to tell time, down to the second.
Starting at about 7:30'ish, Zim kept standing in front of his treat table and microwave, sniffing for something, then he'd walk into the kitchen and sniff some more. After so many rounds of this, I finally said, "Goonie, it's not time yet! You have to wait until 8:30 for your medicine." (which is a teaspoon of wet dog food mixed in to hide his incontinence medicine). Immediately after that, he went to his bed to lie down. I went back to what I was doing (pulling out kernels of corn from a bag of squirrel food), totally unaware of the time. Then, out of nowhere, Zim suddenly stood up, leisurely walked over to the microwave, and just stood there. I was prepared to give him another lecture about time when I glanced over to the cable box and realized that it was exactly 8:30pm. He had stayed down and quiet for more than a half hour, he even took a snooze. But when it turned 8:30, quiet time was over.
As scary as that was, I was quite impressed with his promptness.

That's so cool! I wonder if my beardie is that smart...
You'll never know if you don't try ;)
My best advice is to not treat your beardie like s/he's just a lizard and can't process thought.
I had always spoken to my pets as if they're human, and explained things as they encountered them.

We've had a total of 7 beardies - only two at a time - We've found out that their personalities are soo different. Also some love to learn, are curious. Goldie watched closely as I showed her how to turn on the shower. When I turned the nob to turn the water to shower, she clearly said "Oh, t here it is'

I hope you had a wonderful birthday today, Gina :D

Your beardies are smart like mine, but they've never bumped their syringe like that. They have stuck their tongues out at me to let me know they're thirsty, though.

Imp went to the vet today and he's parasite free, yeah! He's also gained 10g, so he's 377, even though he's not eating much. He was also out on the ramp all day today, from when I left at 11:30a until I got home at 8:30p and was quite happy to have been left out all day, too

Thanks, Deb!

I decided to spend my birthday with my favorite animal: pandas. I got up in the wee hours of the morning and drove myself to Washington, D.C.'s Smithsonian National Zoo. Despite the long drive to and fro, it was so worth it.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
