Well, they were so attached, Gina, that makes perfect sense. And I think Digi helped Pookie live longer, too. And now they're together again. Time just goes so fast, even when you're not really paying attention.

I finally was able to have my closure with both Digi and Pookie on Friday, and finally laid them to rest together.

Here is what their 'shrine' looks like:

That urn is so beautiful, far more than what the website depicted. It is also the perfect size for both of their ashes.



Shortly after I placed the urn into the curio cabinet, I had shown the layout to MoMo and told her that Digi and Pookie are finally together forever. (The reason why I even bothered was because she had a black beard even though she was asleep, because she was too warm.) Within seconds of seeing the urn and hearing what I said to her, her beard turned completely orange and she never took her eyes off of the display. As soon as I turned around to head back to the couch, her beard turned jet black again.

That urn is beautiful and so is the display. I'm glad you put their ashes together, glad you finally got closure. Guess MoMo is really missing them, too.

I know its been a while but I am so sorry that you lost Digi and Pookie. The shrine and Urn are gorgeous. They will be together forever and with you forever, just in another form. I will greatly miss the stories of pookie and digi. My heart and thoughts are with you.

Thanks, Deb. Yes, MoMo still misses her BFF and Pookie very much. I'd been telling her that I love her every chance I get, and giving her lots of kisses and hugs, and taking her to bed with me. But, for her, it's just not the same as the love that she received from Digi.
I wonder if I should print out a photo of Digi and put it in their tank.

You could try and see what MoMo does, maybe it will comfort her.

And I know, but Gianna is showing alot of Pookieisms so you can write about her and there's MoMo, too, she's gets up to stuff and what about Spike? He's no Pookie but he must get up to trouble once in awhile.

I do have a quick update on MoMo and Gianna.

They still hate each other and will black beard and head bob from across the room, when one is sitting in front of the living room window and the other in front of the kitchen window. If they're both in front of the living room window, separately, whoever is at the left one will purposely walk across the couch so she could see the other and head bob and even foot stomp to get the other all wound up.

Well, today, MoMo pulled a Pookie on me and Gianna. I kept separating the girls and putting them on time outs all day, individually or both at the same time. At one point, MoMo had decided that she was going to jump down from the kitchen window perch, run across the floor to the living room, and stand right in front of Zim's bed, in clear view of where Gianna was sitting on top of the couch. Of course, Gianna gray bearded and head bobbed, then flew down the couch to get ready to pounce onto the floor. Lucky for me, I was one step ahead of them and quickly picked up MoMo and put her back into her house, then grabbed Gianna and put her back for a time out. Because MoMo didn't really do anything wrong, I decided that she could come back out. What a mistake that was! Within minutes of being put on the window perch, she walked to the very edge to black beard and head bob at Gianna, who was quietly sitting on her cave and behaving herself. Seeing that she wasn't getting a response out of Gianna, MoMo decided to climb down to the armrest and continue the black bearding and head bobbing. Of course, that did the trick and Gianna charged at the glass, which resulted in MoMo going overboard (because she forgot that the armrest is only so big), but luckily she turned just as she fell and hung onto the blanket that covered the back of the couch. I picked her up and placed her on top of the couch, again, and this time, MoMo decided to dive bomb at Gianna's tank, just like what Pookie used to do. OY! After pulling that stunt, she earned a talking to and time out back home.


The only trouble that Squirt gets into is annoy the girls whenever he's out with them. Neither Gianna nor MoMo cares for his black bearding nor head bobbing nor foot stomping, which, of course, gets him going even more. Oh, I just remembered something. Gianna had taken a liking to run back and forth across the hallway (where Squirt's tank is), then sit in front of his house and drive him nuts.

Oh my, it sounds like my place, only it's the boys that need time outs, not Cierra. She's not even low bobbing any of them. What a day you've been having, refereeing your crew. Those girls are enough to drive you to pulling your hair out :lol:

I should've thought of doing this months ago

I printed out one of Digi's photos for the 2016 calendar and showed it to MoMo tonight.
MoMo was chilling out (literally, because I had forgotten to turn off the CHEs and all of their tanks were like ovens, including the entire upstairs; bad mommy!) in front of the living room window when I held Digi's photo next to her. Before I even got to say anything, MoMo was already looking at it with a look in her eyes that I haven't seen in a very long time. When I told her that I was going to put the photo in her house so Digi could keep her company, just like how she used to, MoMo's eyes went :shock: and she had turned her head so she was looking directly at Digi. Then, just because I could, I asked MoMo if she wanted to give Digi's photo a kiss, and guess what? SHE DID! She stretched her neck until she was about an inch of the photo (she was about 4 inches away), then she licked the photo not just once, but three times!

After looking at the photo some more, MoMo finally turned back to look at me, and of course I told her that she was a very good girl for kissing Digi's photo, then my eyes started to well up with tears. I quickly removed myself from MoMo's sights so she wouldn't see me cry, then walked over to her house to place the photo inside. That was when I lost it; my emotions took over and I cried just like when Digi had passed away.

I'll report back tomorrow to let everyone know how MoMo reacted to see Digi's photo "in" (I taped it to the outside of the glass) their house.

Sometime between 1 and 2pm, Gianna had jumped down from the kitchen window, ran into the living room, abruptly stopped in front of Pookie's ladder, and stared at MoMo inside her house. She sat there for close to a minute, completely motionless and expressionless; MoMo never once moved nor even head bobbed. Suddenly, Gianna flew across the floor to where Zim's bed is, jumped up, and ran across his bed to the floor directly in front of her house. She stood there, looking up, begging to be put back home.

As soon as I placed her back inside her house, on her tree branch, she jumped down and stood for a while in front of her cave, but never going in. Then, she trotted over to her teddy bear and snuggled on really tight. Since then, she'd only switched sides but never left her teddy bear.

Anyone have any idea what happened?
