I took Buddy to see the doctor tonight (he had an toenail fall off last night, probably from when he tried to climb out and got caught by the light's clamp [it's the only thing we could think of]). He was ok with the big dog that was already in the waiting area when we walked in, then was iffy when another big dog walked in about 10 min later. When the third dog, who was much smaller in size (probably a little smaller than Zim) walked through the door and immediately sat about 4 feet away from us, he suddenly became really frightened and ran up my chest (he was initially sitting in my lap) and buried his head into my throat and under my hair. It was so :laughing6: but so  at the same time. The three people with the dogs stared at us as if I had 2 heads and antennas coming out of each one. Luckily, we were called into an exam room shortly after Buddy's little shameful scene. When the doctor was looking at his feet and trying to pull off a piece of skin that had been peeling away from the nail bed of another toe, Buddy kept trying to run away, of course, but would calm down for a few seconds if I gave him kisses and told him "shhhh, it's ok".
After all these years, the doc still can't believe how tamed Buddy was and how he's not at all like a normal snapper.

Yup, that's my little "big chicken"

 :laughing6: The visual on that is too funny. I think you should have your own reality show. No one would believe it!

Even I still can't believe that Buddy ran and hid under my hair. I had no idea that he was such a scaredy cat.
At first I thought that he was going to run off, but after realizing that he was pushing hard against my throat and going nowhere else, I knew that he knew exactly where he was going.

OH MY GOD! I can't believe I didn't think of this before! This totally confirms that Buddy thinks he's a beardie! Pookie used to press his nose into my throat and hide in my hair whenever he was scared too!

Gina, I read your post about Buddy and his scary time at the vet's office just before we went to bed. So, that was our conversation before going to sleep about your "Big Chicken." We could all visualize it and the  look on your face. Thanks for helping to make us laugh, we really needed it and it helped a lot. :D

Did Buddy settle right down when he got home or was he still kinda nervous?

What's the latest on your girls?

Diane, I'm glad I was able to give you and Paul a good laugh right before bed
As long as nobody was touching him, and I was right there next to him, Buddy was just fine. He sat in my lap on the ride home and didn't once try to climb out of his towel burrito. He even let me put some Neosporin on his owies before bedtime and this morning, and just now, without too much of a fight.

The girls are doing good. MoMo is still keeping up with her 2 bowls of greens a day and lots of supers. Because of the enormous appetite, her poops had been huge.
Digi, on the other hand, had been refusing food since middle of last week (I think). She wouldn't even eat her favorite white supers. Instead, she'd gently lick them and then look over to MoMo, as if she's telling me to give them to MoMo instead. She's also getting plumper by the day, dropping mini poops/urates, and pacing like a mad woman. Tomorrow would be 21 days since her first clutch, so I'll be pacing and worrying for the next week for her second.

Told you!! ICC! Identity Challenged Children! By the way, I know all about the "throat/hair deal". No matter what species they are, there's no place safer then hiding under Mommy's throat and hair. We always referred to the maneuver as "turtleing", and is one of the reasons our girl was named Turtle!

That crazy MoMo just tried to eat the cord to my laptop!
I was reading posts when I suddenly felt a mini "thud thud" from the shelf. At first I thought it was me, typing too hard and thus making the entire thing move, but when I stopped it was still making that noise. When I peeked around to the back of the laptop, I saw MoMo trying to pull the cord off (it's twisty-tied to the shelf so it didn't dangle like a worm). I stopped her and asked if she wanted some wormies, and sure enough, she was hungry and ate 5 supers.

What a silly girl!

Guess he was still traumatized by his vet appt. That's good that he let you attend to his "owies" though. Is the area looking better?

MoMo is such a great eater, what a good girl eating so many greens. Does it look like she's gained quite a bit of the wt back that she lost during the HUGE amount of eggs she produced?
Isn't that cute that Digi was giving you permission for MoMo to have the white supers. Sounds like she is getting ready to lay her 2nd fertile clutch. Was there only 1 egg that went bad that Tom has?

Crazy MoMo trying to eat the cord to your mouse. She MUST have been hungry.

The burn on his arm is looking better, not as red or tender looking. The toe, however, may end up either falling off on its own or being amputated because it doesn't look like the skin will fuse back together :( I can't imagine what happened to it; the only thing that could've 'snared' it like that would the the pulls from his towel. Other than that, there isn't anything in the house for him to get caught on. My poor IC baby.

MoMo had been eating two bowls of greens ever since she started brewing her first clutch. She'd have breakfast (overflowing full bowl) then another half bowl when I get home after work (around 7'ish), in addition to tons of supers (I don't bother counting anymore). I weighed her yesterday and she came in at 460 (I think).
Once Digi has buns in her oven, she'd eat her white supers for about a week then she'd start to refuse them. But instead of turning her head or closing her eyes like a normal beardie would when they don't want something, she'd always give it a gentle lick then look over to MoMo. It's so cute.

Every day I'm feeling more and more lumps in Digi's belly. I sure hope she'd lay them soon because she really needs to start eating again.

Correction: MoMo weighed in at 490 from Friday, not 460, because she came in at 493 this morning.

Guess what Buddy did to me this morning? While holding him so he could do his morning stretches, he pee'd on me! Not just a little trickle, but a *bleep bleep* waterfall! I was totally soaked! But from the way he sat comfortably in my hands, he seemed to be quite proud of himself

 I just told Bill what Buddy did to you and he wanted me to tell you he used to have (back in the 60's) a desert tortoise that used to do the same thing to him once in a while. It was 8 or 9 inches in the shell and colorful. He used to hold it up then all of a sudden it would squirt 8 or 10 feet and his friends of his, this wasn't planned. He said it was like a high pressure hose.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
