Open mouth?

My bearded dragon named Katlyn keeps opening her mouth and it just stays open? Should I be worried?

Hello,

They do gape/pant when they bask to release heat & cool off. If she is keeping her mouth
open all of the time then she is probably overheating.
What are the temperatures in the tank & how do you measure them? What sized tank do
you have her in?

I keep her in a 5 feet tank and the tank is a fish tank it came with 2 lights that are not really hot and I don’t check the temperature because the tank doesn’t get too hot. And she’s been acting like this since I gave her a 15 minute bath!

Hello! Monitoring the temperature inside the enclosure is extremely important. Proper basking temperature is crucial to properly digest food and overall health. It is impossible to say if the tank is getting too hot or not hot enough without knowing the actual temperature. I recommend buying a digital thermometer with a probe ASAP, either at a local pet store/reptile shop or you can just order one online. Digital will be the most accurate and buying one with a probe allows you to measure a precise location (her basking spot for example).

Could be the usual gaping as everyone says or it could be pneumonia
