I debated whether this belonged in the introduction's forum or this one but because we lost these two more than 4 years ago I decided it should probably be here as they aren't new beardies, just new to you all as I've never really shared them with you. These first two, Miss O (for orange) and Miss Y (for yellow) were best friends. I didn't realize until almost 2 or so years after we lost them that this is very unusual. You would have had to see them together to understand that they were talking to each other, usually a lot and every day.

I will share some pics of them with you

Bill found Miss O hiding in this box inside of our living room and had to take a picture of her. Since the camera we were using at that time was a film camera, he took her and the box outside on our steps, which is probably why she looks a little annoyed.

Miss O liked to hide this way a lot, with her loving look. She knew we loved her and that was very important to her.

We submitted this pic for the bd.org calendar some years ago. This is one we took that I never noticed until we sent this in for the calendar that they were talking to each other. In this one, Miss Y was saying "I don't feel good" and Miss O was saying "I know, and I'm sorry" Miss O was like that, she had to comfort. She needed someone to love her and to be loved, and comfort when she knew we needed it.

I had better submit this before I delete what I've done, again.

Yes, Squirt hasn't yet. Redrock did several times, one time was when I was at work and Bill (my husband) brought her into town to where I work and I was on a break and she went right on the shirt I had to wear that day for work. Rosie doesn't really and Squirt hasn't yet and we've had her for one year and 3 months, she will be 2 on June 18th.

Hi Lori, I was reading about your nice temps already, lucky you. Has it been nice enough for you to take your girls out yet? Spring can't come soon enough for us! The snow and cold weather has sure taken its toll on my neck and shoulders. Paul is having a real hard time trying to deliver fuel oil as it seems like most people don't remember to shovel out their fill pipe so he has to struggle to try to get to it. His whole body is one big ache.

Hope Rosie doesn't lay eggs this spring and hope Squirt never does. They are all so different and it just depends on their hormones.

yes, it's been nice, we've had higher than normal temps this month. Rosie has been awake every day since late last month. Bill took a pic of her chin that was so black that, he said, looked like someone spray painted it. I will share it with you all when I get a chance to download the pics to photobucket, then to here. He took a picture of Squirt's chin. Hopefully it will capture her true chin colors. It is white, a brown-rust color, orange, yellow, red, brown. Her's is the only chin I remember seeing with such a variety of colors.

So you live in Texas. I have cousins that live in varies areas of Texas. Your temps seem to be like Arizona's should be this month.

That's cool and when I went outside I got my first beardie bite and it hurt and drew blood now I have beardie teeth marked on my finger.

Sounds beautiful there. Great to hear that Rosie has been awake for a month or so. She sounds quite hormonal with the black beard, some females can get like that. Yes, would like to see the pics. Squirt's beard sounds awesome with all those vibrant colors.

What caused your beardie to bite you? Did you clean your finger real good and put an antibiotic cream on it?

I moved it and I guess it looked like a yummy worm lol and my dad made me clean it right away so yes I did clean it up and my dad did not line that he saw blood but it's fine now just a red spot and lifted up skin and he is ok to

Glad your finger is ok. Seems like something scared your beardie and that's why he reacted.

I wouled hate if it became infected and he was outside so he may have so something and it scared him he tried to eat my dogs tail through the glass of his tank and he tried to bite my other finger again but I approached him pretty fast in his tanks I I probably just scarred him and he scarred me lol.

I knew it had been awhile since I posted on my thread but I didn't realize it's been more than a month. It's been a busy March and this last week I have been sick. Bill and I made some no-sugar strawberry jam. He needs no sugar jam and the only ones you can find locally has that fake sugar substitute that's more unhealthy than regular sugar. When you do actually find the sugar free jam locally, it's extremely expensive!

Anyway, we ordered two of the 100 watt Arcadia MVP setups from LightYourReptiles.com We had done this awhile back and have had them installed for a couple of weeks (I think). I can't say enough good about dealing with Todd. He tested them to make sure they worked before sending them to us. I got a bit confused (first time with this setup) and I sent and email and got impatient and called him. He's very nice and told me to not change anything on the transformer as he'd already set it up for us. It's great that he did that as the instructions on it were confusing to say the least. I know he has the reptisun 10 tubes and the Arcadia tubes also. My husband called me yesterday to tell me that the transformer that we had on Rosie's tank no longer worked. I told him to call Todd and where to find the business cards he'd sent with the setups. (we even got two pens with a flashlight in the top, they even seem to work great). Bill told me that Todd was going to send us a new transformer, which I expected, and I expected it in next week: Arizona is a long way from Maine. It arrived today but we haven't plugged it in yet. If any of you want to try the MVP's again, go with Todd. The original setup is pricey but he had them on sale when we purchased them. It's worth it to me to be able to get a good bulb to put into the kit. It's also worth it to know that he checked it out and it's already setup for us. If I was smarter (I wasn't thinking right the day they came in) I would have realized he'd set it up for us and I didn't have to change anything.

It's really easy dealing with Todd. I've been wanting to get this setup since I first heard about it. The only thing that worries me is the tag on it that says "made in China" as most things sold in the USA are now usually made in China. That is not Todd's fault as people want the best quality for the cheapest price, those things don't always work. We had an unpleasant experience with an MSD High Performance coil a year ago. These coils used to be made in the United States and were incredibly dependable. However, that changed about five years ago now they are made in China, with inferior materials. That pretty red coil left us stranded in the middle of nowhere till friends from our church came to our aid!

Glad you guys liked working with him so much and that he has great customer service. Not many people do anymore, especially when dealing with online only.
