I call forth Alucard

As you all know, Vash passed away..so sad.
But now I got a new guy, I will send pics
here not on another thread...he's very
stressed being shipped from Florida...I
got one before he wanted to hide.

Pets are awesome, Alucard was $109 from a breeder.
He's worth it all. I will give him a bath tomorrow, he's
asleep as we speak with his che on. The new eel that's
7 weeks was $56. Mickey ( who had to be put down because
of blood in stool) was actually free we found her and her
sister under a trailer ( her sister died 2012 of blood poisoning). Mickey was the cat I told you all about in Vash's
thread. Loki and Thor was $30 together, they were $15
each. Guppies were $2 each so $4 plus rasboras who were
$5 each made a total of $14 for fish. Diablo was full on
$15 because he was on sale as the pet store is out of business and our only shop is fish store who can order
other animals than fish.

Alucard is up and ate 2 crix still...so next is bath
at 12:30, trying to keep a schedule so eventually
he'll go potty in the bath. Still scratching his eye
tail not ready, but white as paper. He had his
calcium today. He has his multi vitamin on Fri
and Sat mornings. He had turkey baby food mixed
in with greens, endive and a few bell peppers as
a slurry, to get him some stuff in him other than
2 crickets, ate the slurry not all of it. Ok more
like he drank the slurry LOL. Anyway, Sunday is
kinda dead for me as the family sleeps all day so
all I have is Alucard, Merry and Thor to play with.
Not at the same time of course, Alucard wants to
eat Thor, Vash never bothered eating the gerbil.
Still love my fish, the guppies all male (mom doesn't
want babies) I still think a few females they wouldn't
bother having mates. Rasboras have 2 more to play
with so there's 4. My girl eel ate today do she's full
she saw them but didnt eat the fish.

He ate more than 2 pieces!
Yay, so proud of him!
His eye is almost done his
tail isn't ready but still white.
He's getting bigger, ate 7 crickets
that's more than 2. The adults are
still going at it, I added 12 again. I
should really add more than 12 at a time
they have more than 12 babies. He's still
pooping every day so he hasn't stopped
once yet. It's been so long since a dragon
could go without pumpkin. Vash had a lot
of digestion problems since he was born. So
pumpkin every day when he was younger.

I finally have more fish in the tank so a total of
6 once again, my sister picked the two. She picked
2 flame tetras for her tank, but she's cycling it while
mine had to be done with fish...I didn't wanna do it
mom says bs and gets us fish. I'm just keeping them til
it's done. I have two boys and I have her two girls and
they'll mate but whatever all she wants are flame tetras
so she'll have extras.

Alucard is eating breakfast and had calcium dusted
crickets. I wanted to do an egg and forgot I already
made breakfast the night before. So egg for lunch,
he hasn't had one since October 7th. Gonna show
pictures of Alucard as soon as all the chores are
done and that's days for me, usually. I'm always
busy. Taking care of a lot of fish...I said 6 but there's
more I forgot 8 guppies 4 rasboras 1 eel and 4 flame
tetras...I never see the eel really. In 6 weeks I will
have two tetras if they don't mate with the girls so
far they hadn't. I told her to cycle the tank and she used
my gravel from my 10 gallon to cycle.

So Alucard finally his tail is shedding in pieces.
Some came off and I see new bright orange
color. his tail has half left to go. I also have
a fly in my room and I hate them, they are dirty.
I tried chasing...it flies over me, so I give up I
hope it leaves door is open. So I have already done
breakfast, bath and lunch. He's not a fan of pumpkin.
He still eats baby food, I ran out of greens. I'm
hoping to grow my own wheat grass soon. Getting
another tank for a betta, my 5 gallon has things
in it...so all fish die in it.

That's great that Alucard is shedding his tail now. Bet you will like seeing his whole body bright orange.

Good luck catching that fly. We have had a problem with lady bugs. They sure love the basking bulbs and it is hard to get them all out too. The beardies sure don't like them.

Have some of your bettas died lately? They are such a beautiful fish especially the fancy tails.

Yeah about every betta I ever had, died in 5 months in
that old tank. I'm thinking something bad is in it and
no matter how many times I disinfect it (use no soap
or bleach) they still die in 5 months. I caved in and by
xmas I will have a new tank and cycle without fish.
I cannot wait till Alucard sheds the rest of his body
the bright orange will be do pretty.

Have you tested the PH of the water to make sure it isn't too alkaline or acid? We used to have all sorts of fish so I know how their health can be affected if the PH is off.

You'll have to share some pics of Alucard when his shedding is done, can't wait to see his bright orange colors.

It may be the PH. I'll be sure to test when the cycle is
done. The last betta that lived for about 9 years was
Chucky ( yes after Child's Play series). Best fish ever
he was black with red on his tail, rare coloration on
him. He knew to swim through a hoop, follow my finger
and jumped for food and also swam in circles as a trick
not an illness. I don't have any pics of him. I will totally
share pics of Alucard as he sheds. This makes of lack of
pics of baby Vash.

Wow, 9 yrs is a long time for a fish. Had to laugh at the name Chucky. :mrgreen: Yes, checking the PH would be a good idea, sure can't hurt. Do you have a good filter system in the tank? Is the water nice & clear?

I can't think of all the different types of fish we had, tetras, clown loaches, glo-lites, betta, etc. My husband had a mating pair of oscars. One jumped out of the tank one day and the other mourned itself to death, wouldn't eat or anything.

We even had red, white & blue crabs as well as fiddler crabs, they were such fun to watch.

Well Chucky is funny if you do think about it.
I was like 13, fan of Child's Play. Sucked to
see him die, he looked so miserable in old
age. Just lied there breathing slow. But
thanks for the idea, I will check it. He's lucky
to live passed the others so far. We had gold fish,
zebra danios, tiger barbs, angel fish and lots of
neon tetras. We had four betta fish, Chucky was one
of the four but the other fish stressed him out so
moved him to my room. They were all named after
horror movies. Jason, Michael and Freddy were the other
3. They lived with the other fish in the tank and they didnt
bother killing each other or hurting other fish.

To answer your question, yes good filter in the tank well
was since I took it down and used the tank for water
changes for my eel tank and my 29 gallon.

More of his tail shed so we're close to the end, also
ate celery stalks.

I know this is late for me as I should be in bed.
I took care of the house all day and Alucard.

So I went out and got a game some people
complimented my costume. I was dressed
as the 6th Dr from
Doctor Who like every year...I know I should
come up with something else. Came home water
changed the eel tank. Watched a couple horror
movies and ate a couple pieces of candy. Alucard
is really close to finishing his tail. I'm sure next up
is his legs, feet and body then after that should be
his head and face. If I'm thinking correct the shed is
working upward his body.

Feeling very drained but I got up and did what I was supposed to. Guessing one of those days, not sick
anymore.

Took care of Alucard and all I wanna do is sleep
I know that sounds so wrong. I don't mean it like
I want to neglect him. I have my phone to wake me
up at specific times to care for him.

Diablo is doing ok buy yet ANOTHER heater for his
tank. I buy them and they quit on me after a week.
I might just get one shipped instead.

Great that Alucard is shedding. Hope it finishes soon.

Odd that your heaters keep quitting after about a week. Maybe would be a good idea to switch brands perhaps.
