HELP OF LIGHTING/HEATING

Hello, I am new to the BD industry and was wondering if I should use a Mercury Vapor Bulb bc it gives of both UVB and heat in one bulb, or to use 2 separate bulbs?

Then yes you can use a MVB if you'd like...I personally perfer them. I use the Exo-terra Solar Glo 125watt...it will work on your's too. Here's a link to the best price I could find on them. It's the middle bulb on the top line. :wink:

Note: When using a MVB you need to make sure that it is mounted level or it will not work properly and will burn out prematurely. Also when using a MVB you will need to use the calcium without D3.

Do i need to worry about the distance the bulb is from the BD or should i just put it on top of the screen

The distances is between 12 and 15ish inches from basking spot. So it allows you some
space to work with inorder to get the temps worked out to proper range...an it will
work with different climates.

They make a lamp stand to hang them from but with 8+ viv's that could get expensive
I personally don't use the screen so mine are mounted like this.
We just attached a peice of wood to the stands to clamp it to.

Note: The second hood in this one is for an extra white household bulb to raise heat
during Winter....and for a CHE (Ceramic Heat Emitter) during Winter nights when our house
does drop below 65*.
