Has anyone NEVER been bit by their beardie?

I've had my guy Wilson since January of this year. I believe he is approx 10 mos. We handle him constantly. He goes on field trips to the hair salon quite often ( i'm a cosmetologist and the old ladies love him :) ) . He also plays outside with the neighbors all of the time, many of them children. I have never owned any other beardie so i cant say besides my own experience. Wilson has never showed any aggression towards anyone who has handled, petted or have been totally freaked out by him lol. I have a really sweet guy and i really do believe it has everything to to with handling and interaction. They are not meant to be left in a viv all day just to look at in my opinion. They should be allowed to sit on the couch just like the dog should :)

I have never been bitten and neither have the countless children who have pet and loved on sweet Fafnir! Beardies are naturally docile. Most of them will never bite. Most. ;)

I've been bitten around 3 times, all 3 were mistakes. i hand feed nefarion his veggies and he accidently nipped my finger. as soon as he did it he crawled on my hand and licked me.. so i think he was sorry.. He has bearded up and made his body flat but petting him, talking to him, and picking him up makes him calm down. hes never hissed at me or even bearded up at ME, its always been something else, like the fan, or a vacuum, or the cat. XD

Only once by Terra, and it was a feeding one. More my fault than anything.

Long story short, I was trying to feed her some CGD(Crested Gecko Diet) as a treat. Well, she ended up seeing the bottle cap it was in as food, so I had to remove that from her mouth. In the process, I was bit, but it was only for a split second, and she let go of both. The only mark she left was a MINOR skin tear on my right index finger, and it's fully healed with no lasting effects.

Lesson learned: Don't use a water bottle cap as a food dish for adult beardies.

In the 8 months I've had him, my Starbuck has only bitten me once and I deserved it. He needed some drugs for pinworms a few months back, and I had to get a syringe in him and apply the drugs orally. The first day, I caught him off-guard and it was pretty easy. But after that, it was a battle to get his mouth opened wide enough and long enough to get a syringe in. One of the days, I had the syringe set down and was using both hands to pry his mouth open. I finally got the mouth open, and stuck my finger in her mouth with one hand while I used the other hand to get the syringe... Starbuck didn't take kindly to that plan and chomped down on my finger. Didn't bleed, but it hurt like a mother.

I should have known better than to stick my finger in his mouth, but I did it and have never had a biting issue before or since.

Leonard who we have had since 12/2012 has never tried to bite anyone who he has come in contact with.Sammy I rescued 6/1/2013 and did get me once but it was my fault as I was hand feeding him a piece of strawberry and he got my finger instead. As soon as he realized I wasn't tasty(lol) he let go..

I think I would be more concerned about scratches than bites. My little girl gets scratches from cuddling one of ours. Their claws can be quite sharp and they do carry bacteria. You should keep the claws trimmed and always wash a scratch well to prevent infection. When beardies get sleepy, they start scratching with their feet. It's just an instinct. Sometimes our start doing the "diggy diggy" when they are happy, too. A bite, I would think, would only happen if the child startled the beardie or put his finger too close to his mouth.

Very good point. Boba Fett is constantly trying to dig on me! He has some sharp nails!

We've only had slick for 2 mo. But he has never tried to bite any of us. Only showed his beard twice. Once because my 9yr old thought it would be fun to show him a giant rubber spider! Once because my 7 yr old came in loud and crazy. Both times I'm sure he was in fear for his life! But they play with him everyday. They take him out to show the neighborhood kids, and he's never been agressive at all! He's very sweet!

We joke around that we have tamed the "Dragon" right of our guys. They are basically as exciting as an old, fat dog. They lay around on the couch and watch tv. We made sure to handle them right from the start. We also pet them, from head to toe, we pet their beards, touch their feet, their tails, everything. My bf even kisses them on the lips (he's crazy  )We want them to be used to being handled, the same advice given to dog owners. I have never been bitten by either of our boys, and have never felt nervous that I was going to be bitten. Jericho has never shown a black beard, makes me wonder if he's "broken" lol. Our little guy Tyrion has only ever blackbearded when he is sitting in his viv and we put Jericho in front of it. Also, ocassionally in the bath tub while he is panicking he puffs up and blackens a little, but never towards us. We hand feed veggies to both our boys and they are very gentle, and accurate. Below is my 2 yr old goddaughter holding Jericho, she's more aggressive than he is!

This is Tyrion "going for my jugular", and snuggling on me. He put himself there!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
