NO.. I've never been bitten by either one of my beardies.. I had to force feed one when she was ill and give meds to both and have never even had a close call... I wouldn't and don't put my fingers near their mouth while they're hunting live food and we'll leave it at that..

I have never been bitten by either of my dragons. My little one makes a show for us gaping. but thats about all the aggression I have ever seen out of my 2. I have 6&5 year old sons and they are always taking out Boba Fett(my older dragon) and just hanging out with him, he will stay around them while they are playing cars or doodling on the floor and the boys even take him outside to play with them and he just digs around in the dirt with them! He even takes baths with them sometimes! LOL He has never made an attempt at biting them, and sometimes they wouldve deserved it!

No bites nor even any real crankiness from my baby! If it has teeth it can bite, but really dragons are pretty laid back. It helps if you go with a breeder that hand-raises the babies and can tell you about their personality. (Props for Cheryl at beardeddragons.co)

I have been bitten by one of my leopard geckos and yes, she broke the skin, but it was entirely my fault. I was changing her cage and she was warning me repeatedly she wanted to be left alone, and I didn't listen, and even then it only happened because I picked her up. If you learn a reptile's body language then it's not hard to avoid being bitten most of the time, in my experience.

i think it comes down to personality.

Dargon bit me once. on accident during a feeding.
i was holding (what ever it was) in my hand for him and he over bit and got my finger.
i yelped more out of shock than pain (it was really just a nip), but Dargon looked upset that he bit me.
he laid almost flat and looked up at me all sad. he never bit me again. and i use tongs.

Tasty Treat... she nips when she is mad.
she tried to eat a cable on the floor, and nipped me when i pulled her away.
anytime i tried to stop her from doing something she would nip me and stare at me. they were her 'warning bites'. she will go after anything resembling food.
she doesn't do it as much now that she is bigger, but i do tell people that she could bite.

Miss Buddy is over 2year old and has never bit me. Never tried. I hand feed her all the time. when she shows signs of behavior, liking puffing up, I just pet her til she calms down. the only way she has ever hurt me is scratching me with her nails, on accident of course. I have a 3yr old roaming my house who loves her. Pets her all the time, supervision needed but more for buddy than her lol

I haven't been bitten by the one I have now, but I was bitten on my thumb by my first one. I had to force feed her and I was pulling the side of her mouth down to get the syringe in. I obviously didn't have ahold of her properly, cause she ended up shaking her head and caught my thumb in her mouth.
So it was my fault not hers

I've never been bit by one of my dragons. I did get bit by my moms dragon years ago, he wasn't terribly tame and didn't approve of me touching his face.

I have a 2 year old and he wouldn't hurt a fly (unless he was eating it :)). Honestly I think it has to do with personality and how the dragon was raised (if it was handled a lot). My 3 year old nephew comes over and grabs my dragon in the face and all he'll do is try to get away if he is annoyed.

I have a female, Loki, who I have had for a little over a year and a male, Thor, who I just got last week. Both were rescue's and both were not used to much handling. I have never been bitten, neither of them have ever tried. They have both black bearded and hissed at me, but i am just really careful in my handling of them. Thor does not like to be picked up, so I move slowly, I talk to him so he knows I'm there and I slowly move my hands under him. The first few times he tried to get away and black bearded and opened his mouth. I just kept talking to him and would try again to pick him up slowly. After a few days he now lets me pick him up, and when I
hold/carry him i just make sure he feels safe, supported and secure. I also only hold him for short times, as he gets agitated, and I increase the time each day. I have three kids, 11, 7 and 4. They all handle Loki, who is tame and used to being held. I taught them how to hold her, to move slow movements and to never touch her face or tail. They dont hold Thor yet, but they do pet him while I hold him. I think a bearded dragon would be a great pet for your son as long as you are active in its care and teach him to care for it correctly. A well cared for dragon is a happy dragon.

i have had beardies for 2-3 years and have never been bit - until i moved. i loved in the same house for 3 years then recently moved and the friend who had been helping me moved all my tank supplies around so it was hard to find stuff. my 1 year old kramisha decided to jump from the bottom of her tank the night we moved about 6 inches up and grab my thumb. she bit just about the thumb nail (the whole end was in her mouth) and drew blood. however she was mad because she hadn't gotten her evening meal on time and it was 4 hours past their bed time. all my fault and i am not blaming her one bit. my male black beards me and has since i got him as a rescue. i thought for sure he was going to bite me but i try to watch their body language and if i have to pull them out when they are upset i grab my reptile towels or washclothes so they can't get me if they do try to bite. that was the only time i got bit to my memory and it was my fault.

Geez , drawing blood cause you didn't feed them? That's kinda intense, maybe it was more relocation stress since u said you moved?

I doubt the bite was because she was mad about being fed late. More likely she was hungry and mistook your thumb for food, it happens.
I'm really surprised by the number of people who have been bit. I've handled hundreds of dragons over the past few years (relative was a breeder) and even the wild, nasty tempered dragon didn't bite.

I don't count accidental chomps when force feeding as a bite, the dragon is just trying to get the foreign object out of their mouth.

I got nipped by Zero the other day when I was feeding him some Mustard Greens with my fingers. He's still small so it didn't puncture or draw blood, but it didn't even pinch either. It was kinda surprising and a little funny. I ended up dropping the greens on his head in surprise and he just kinda looked at me like, "What? Why'd ya do that for?"

I read a post somewhere here that their beardie jumped on their face and tried to eat their eye  Is that only EXTREME cases that something like that would happen ?!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
