Female trying to dig?

Today we moved and put tile in yayo's tank. she had soil in it before. since then she has been trying to dig nostop. is this just her not used to tile? or something else? should i have a nesting box set up?

It could be her just getting used to things. Was she digging at all before the tile? Does she look extra fat like she might have eggs?

I'd back up further and ask did she go out one night and come back home the next morning doing the walk of shame with her lipstick a little messed up and her hair all a mess before even asking if she feels like she has eggs, If she hasn't been bringing any surly men home then my first guess is that she's just getting used to the tile.

no i did not notice her digging before today.

she is tank mates with a male, but he is not at all very mobile. he suffers from a eye problem from his previous home. with that being said, i dont wanna hear comments about them living together, i got them from a registered rescue who suggested they stay together, and also talked to my vet about it. Im not trying to be rude, just want to know about the digging.

but i was told before they are pregnant for a few months. and i only got them about 2 months ago. chance she was bred before i got her?

well gravidity only takes 2-3 weeks not months. (EDIT: the incubation process after they've laid the eggs takes a couple of months) The honest answer is that yeeesss there's a chance they have mated. It's usually when you're not looking. Is she digging in a corner?

Try putting her in a laybox separate from her tank, give her some privacy, see what she does. If she's gravid, she'll get to work pretty quickly.

so whats a ideal laying box?

shes under her rock home doing it. she feels normal though.

There's varying opinions on what is ideal. Basically if you give her 8-12 inches of moist substrate that she can dig in and bury her clutch in you'll be fine. I use a rubbermaid bin.
