Aw, keep Bella as her name ! Maybe Alby as her middle name. :) If you are boiling her basking platform you can still use that....hopefully taking it in + out of the tank is not bothering her too much.

When was the last time you offered Bella Alby any live [ slow moving ] food ?

I have been doing fecals everyday. Yesterday's fecal looked like the coccidia was better. Today it is wall to wall again. I guess it can change that fast. We already established that I'm not a biologist but I think because she has had so much Albon, it has grown resistant to it.

I'm done with vet Kingofnobby, I can hear your next post.

I offer it all the time. She ate quite a few wax worms on her own. I force fed her 2 butter worms.
I also have hornworms. She has actually gained about 5 grams. She was 52 grams yesterday.

But she did not eat yesterday or today, so far.

Everything considered she does look pretty good. She doesn't look like she's in a lot of discomfort, so I would agree, keep working with her.

I'd be careful about force feeding full prey. If she's eating some on her own, I'd nix force feeding altogether to promote her wanting to eat on her own. Force feeding can stress them out, also.
If it does become fully necessary, say maybe a week or so of not eating, I'd recommend a slurry of some sort, grub pie, or in this case likely critical care via syringe. Just offer her drips of water and keep her hydrated.

I apologize but I fully forget, are you using a pro-biotic for her right now to help stimulate appetite?

The Toltrazuril came in but the cleaner and other supplements did not.

Back to the steamer.

We have high hopes for this med.

It's good that she's eating some and had a wee bit of a weight gain, that's a good sign ! Hopefully the new med. will help her.

Of course the directions that came with the new med states it is best to use med by May of 2014.

And if you look carefully it says to clean with bleach... :angry5:

I have to tell you, I dabble in a lot of hobbies, too many for my own good but I have never seen more conflicting information in my life.

Yikes.
Let's just hope the paper is outdated and the meds are not. It's likely the care sheet is just a default, typed up paper they haven't cared to update since May 2014 and figure no one reads it, just grabbed, and stuffed

There are articles written by Harvard Health + other respected organizations that say that meds. were tested + still good 10-15 years after the expiration dates ....the meds. are probably still perfectly fine.
If you Google that very question you can read the articles. For some reason I can't upload them here.

You are probably right. I was being a little sarcastic and letting a little steam out. Plus I have been wanting to use that little dude that bangs his head on the brick wall. :banghead: It seemed to really express my feelings. :D

Lol, it's all good.
You can definitely tell some places just reprint the old sheets they've been using for years, with like.. comic sans font.. and outdated information... There's nothing more frustrating than contradicting information. For what it's worth, my baby girl has/had coccidia, was on SMZ/TMP whatever it is, cleaning with F10, no secondary enclosure, and she is doing well. She hasn't been in for a re-test yet, but already the consistency and, dare I say, the smell of it are clear indicators it's gone or under control. She was on meds for 2 weeks straight, they better be gone.

The important part is the dosing information, and the medicine itself. I have hopes this will work for you. While not the same as what I had, the active ingredients appear similar

I'm sorry, I missed this. I'm glad your girl is better. Has it had an effect on her appetite?

The vet told me it wouldn't, but both my dragons were affected pretty badly.

Richter, my male, didn't eat for days until I started him on a pro biotic from bug de lite, reptiphilus, and my youngest was on her second round of treatment because her dose was basically nothing as a baby, and her appetite went from eat everything to snack lightly

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
