Ceramic heat lamp smell

Hello! I️ just purchased the zoomed 100w ceramic heat emitter for my beardie. I️ plugged it into my ceramic lamp & it has a slight burning smell. Is this normal? No smoke just a gross burning smell when I️ get close the lamp.

I just got another Beardie so I had to buy another set of lights. Mines had a slight smell but it dissipated after a while.

In my experience & research it's pretty typical. CHE bulbs usually come with some sort of sealant/surface finish that burns off in the first couple of days of use. I'd recommend leaving it out of your beardie's enclosure until the smell fades just to be safe, but it honestly should be fine as is.
