Thanks Nancy!

He is the same age as Alucard so I suppose 16 is good for a 4 month old. Despite people not liking Petco/PetSmart I got a nice plump...well semi plump juvi from owners who dropped him off. So I'm not sure if they got him from there (maybe) or an expo and just dropped him off. I had good experiences with a breeder (my friend who had Vash) and a pet store (Broly so far). He is my first pet store baby so we'll be sure to keep tabs on him. Take him into the vet if we have to.

He ate 5 crix sooo, guessing he's not liking them too much.
I know what you all say..feed till he's not hungry well 5 isn't sufficient enough to cure his hunger. Hasn't pooped yet so either he's skipping today or he'll go later. My roaches hatched but too small for his size at the moment same with crix. Still high energy level during the morning/afternoon tired by evening. Glass dancing, climbing up and down his log and background. Jumps and sits on his crocodile skull I bought for him he flares at it sometimes. Our Petco in Roseburg was pretty good, these beardies were in a really big hexagon tank with a UVB on top of screen...well they coulda cut a hole. It was tall too.But no one looks ill...just dark colored, it was warm in the store so I assume they were warm also heat lamp..but the other store we went to had a coil uvb and red light for heating. Mom didn't like that set up so she wanted to look elsewhere. It was a plump 3 month old but she felt if we took it home we'd be back at the vet every week because of the lights. I honestly wanted it because he was healthy now and didn't look bad at all. It was plump he ate well. He was also awake so he wasn't having any issues holding up it's body. I hope someone saves him, he's cute.

Just thought you should know our Petco isn't bad like most...some are good. Barely any poop in with Broly and rest that were there.

He pooped before I woke up (turned on lights at 8 and went back to bed). So I woke up and picked up his deposit. Formed, white urate and not that smelly so no bad bugs.
Fed mustard greens and a bell pepper (chopped up well) and topped with turkey/sweet potato baby food also calcium (extra protein not just feeding baby food for protien). 2 hours after breakfast then bath and wiped baby food off his chin.
He had crix (pet store for a while as they need to grow), so he had about 5-6 in a bowl because I didn't want them escaping under carpet or behind the background. So yeah.

Broly has a tummy but didn't eat mini supers so I put them back in the container.

It seems my female betta took out one my scissortail rasbora's eye. He has one eye and I have literally feed
him by hand as he can't come and get it. Also he's afraid of her. I'll figure he'll make it if he's hungry and comes to my hand. He comes to fingers so it's good.

Yeah bad girl! But I didn't bring her home. She was a gift from my sister...after Alucard died. I didnt wanna be rude.

So I fed Broly than the fish and the one eye fish came up like normal. I watched him find food to make sure he was gonna be okay, looks like he'll make it. He went from lying on the bottom with one eye to eating at the top with his sister and betta fish.

Broly still has a gut, eating anything I put in his tank.
Still upgrading. I need to post more pics. So he's getting a good mix of protein and greens.

So fed him his lunch and realized the cut in screen wasnt good enough. I moved the screen top down a little bit so the light from the tube was not obstructed. So the fixture is on the edge of the screen and edge of the tank but the light and tube is inside without obstruction. My only problem now is Broly getting to close to it as in he loves to climb the wall, will he go blind or health issues even though Reptisun 10.0 tube is well respected? Basking bulb is near it, I just don't want our relationship to start off with eye drops because he got close and burned his eyes. We're still in the process of learning each other.

I put a 40 watt bulb next to Emily and Emmett's UVB to help with them not getting eye problems. They haven't had any issues with their eyes at all with it set up like that.

Oh good so it's ok thanks, it just looks like he's under that bulb when he climbs up there. The basking is right next to it where it sits. The basking is behind it if that makes sense..but close to it. Because I had to get the tube inside.
I tried taking out the background but it's really wedged into the corners so it doesn't come out. So when he climbs he looks like he is completely under the reptisun. And his head get close to the uvb. I'm still gonna get it out somehow to avoid him being 2" near it.

I got the background out so now he can't get 2" to the uvb.
I put it on the outside of his tank wedged against the tank and the wall. This is better. He saw it come out and he's upset he can't climb it but as long as the uvb sits like that or getting it inside he can't do that. He'll be waaaay too close and I wasn't gonna risk eye issues. I hope he gets over it. Doesnt stress too much about it.

Edit: I did do the right thing right? He was too close by climbing up.

My mom said I should put back the background but he seems to be getting used to it not being there. He still eats low number of crix and afraid to order another type of feeder because it's still cold here they may die. Plus mom doesn't wanna order anything live anyway (Alucard is why no live shipping even bugs), so I'm stuck with local crickets and mealworms (won't bother because impaction cases). Now for lunch I do give mustard greens topped with baby food but I still think with 6 crix and baby food topping still not enough protein. He's still a little chubster and fat pads aren't sunken in, his tail has a good base.

My crix which I may feed to my eel but my roaches are still growing but not fast enough. I suppose I could feed them to him but he won't be satisfied on babies. I feed 15 each feeding and he still picks off 6-8 and calls it good. So I grab the rest. I suppose I can try an egg see if he'll eat that, that should boost his protein a bit (egg twice a month if he likes it and yes I know not two days in a row).

Just curious but why are you trying to force so much protein? Never heard that before unless a baby is way to small or lacking in muscle tone?

Well, don't juvies need protein? I thought he did because he's still in growing mode. I wasn't sure if he should just be fed greens or not. Should I not then? Maybe Im just nervous he won't grow if he doesn't get his protein.

Yes they need protein to grow and for healthy muscle. I was just curious why so much is all. Not that its wrong. Emmett and Emily got crickets or roaches for meals with once a week slurries made of baby food and supplements, then got the baby food slurries with fresh greens in them once a month. now they get the supplements an no slurry. they have gotten their salads from day one every day. Like I said I was curious as to why.

I'm gonna try to schedule a vet visit...his urates bounce from slight pink to white...it might be what pet store fed which there was red food I don't know what it was. I also think he should have passed it already. Or is the sprays too much supplementing? I still have the powder if the sprays are too much. It was white before I started with the liquid spray...maybe it's not good.

If Emily or Emmett get to much in the vitamin department their urates turn a bit pinkish and I cut back..although their food is lightly dusted. Under the vitamin dust I could still see the natural color of the crickets or roaches but, in their case was the amount of crickets dusted that caused their urates to be a bit pinkish.
What the store fed him should be out of his system by now. I found with liquid sprays I could not control the amount coming out of the nozzle with one spritz. I gave up on liquid unless I ordered it and could give it by syringe.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
