Hey,

So when Tom moves out here he'll take in Broly as a patient he loves Tom anyway. I weighed since handn't pooped yet and hes 393g he gained 8 from last month weigh in. Hes sleepy at almost 5...not sure what's up with that. Anyway, he's fine he's still gradually going up and still at about 19" long. He's 2 yrs next year is there a weight he should stay at? He's about to hit 400g and he's about 15 mos now..it's hard to keep track Im going with 1 year because he is. He did spend time in the sun like 30 minutes ago. That usually tires him out.

No particular weight Kami, he's still young and has weight to gain. As for him being like that, Cierra and Gabriel are like that, too, going to bed way too early but otherwise normal. Not sure what's up with that, we're having a heat wave here, maybe that's it, as it was fall weather just a few days ago.

So Tom is a vet?

Yes, he is becoming a vet an exotic one at that. Not enough reptile vets around here...well there's 3 but read two reviews on them and didn't like what i saw. The other one i have is good and Tom wants to come out here and work at the office my current vet works at. He has 2 more years of vet school (been there before I met him). He's been studying illnesses of beardies so he has a general idea of whats what. Adeno and yellow fungus have no cures he knows that but can be treated well yellow fungus can be treated at least. He knows the signs of RI he knows fungal problems need an antifungal medication not antibiotic which makes it worse.

Broly just wants bugs...no baby food squash (shortage of pumpkin and only available during Thanksgiving) or greens or beardie bites though I gave those to the crickets as greens went bad store tomorrow. So now will have to find Alucard's old syringe (yellow fungus gone but will wash in case) and have to do .4 ml of vitamin and calcium next week since bugs cannot be sprayed and all i have is liquid form and other foods he's ignoring (ignored greens and beardie bites for a while now). He's throwing baby food out the window too and THAT was my only way to get supplements into him. We had heat Wed and Thur back to cold now not too cold but cold enough and rain too.

I'm finding them being affected by the big changes in the weather, from warm to cool, back to warm, etc. I'm still having to feed Gabriel and Nathaniel and sometimes Cierra (greens). Imp is doing really well, eating all his bugs (crickets, dubia and small supers) daily, I'm giving him only 2 ml of mix compared to 6 ml just 3 weeks ago. I'm weighing him on Sunday, so I'll let you know how big he's gotten again.

I'm so glad Tom is coming back and he'll be helping the vet you like. Two more years and he'll be an exotic vet, that's exciting!

And don't worry about Broly and greens/veggies. He'll come around. Gabriel isn't even eating greens lately, spits them out...they're all very stubborn and weird in the spring.

Yeah, it's exciting! My vet will be happy to learn more about reptiles though he knows a good deal.

Broly actually isn't eating today, he ate yesterday but he's giving up on baby food (2 days now). I dropped 2 crix to see and he didn't even look. When I raised it to him he closed his eyes so hopefully just another off day like March 17 and he'll eat tomorrow. He's pretty active anyway just looking around (he tried to sleep at noon) I kept him up though LOL he didn't care to sleep after that.

My vet had an opening so we took him in (now don't have to take him in April 11). Parasites are ruled out. His bloodwork came back fine. Did a check of skin, weight was 390 ( he pooped on the 6th and not eat much) and no mouth rot. He was not liking his mouth being pulled open...well vet did it gently he still didn't like it he puffed at him and black beard. My vet apologized and told him we had to look inside to make sure then he calmed down and beard back to yellow but instead pouted. He patted Broly's head and said "sorry friend, we're just checking, you know looking out for you we don't any illness to hurt you."

You have a great vet Kami, that's so funny that he calmed down like that. Beardies don't like their mouth opened. Imagine what it's like for me, feeding Nathaniel, he doesn't like it but won't eat on his own, so I have no choice. At least he ate well today so can leave him for a few days.

Broly is doing just what Cierra is doing, eating bits and pieces or nothing at all. I swear it's the change from winter to spring and will pass. He's healthy, so it's all good.

Yeah, I'm happy he's healthy enough to not eat today and be okay. Babies are the only ones not okay to not eat correct?

He's asleep now I tried one last time to attempt food as he was running around, nope. So he went to bed hungry (if he is) I hope he isn't hungry. Hoping he perks up and I know it's hard because it just doesn't stay warm long enough for his body to decide. He did however (not every time) crawl on his belly to his area to sleep. I seen him walk before he doesn't push himself around like that just when he is exhausted because weather won't make up its mind. He does walk normally.

Oh man, Nathaniel he has got to be a nightmare to open his mouth. Is he? I may do what you're doing if he doesn't try again soon on his own as he's healthy.

He decided he'll eat...by syringe! Not sure where or why he would get the idea of being fed this way. I leave for vacation in May for 5 days. Nobody has the time to feed him like this when I'm gone. I hope this is a passing phase. I did do .3ml of vitamin today..he opened his mouth and took it.
I never ever syringe fed him the whole time with me. I didn't even pull down his lip he willingly took his food/vitamin. So i had to make everything a smoothie...out of roaches, reptiworms and crix along with collard and mustards, willingly took that too. Im glad he's eating but didn't know he likes this idea. I did wash the blender so mom wouldnt freak out. He pooped today, to be honest, i didnt think he had anything in him since after the 6th.

The syringe is fine but my mom and brother aren't having any time to feed him like that. Then again if it keeps up and at some point will have to medicate him with the syringe it will be easier LOL then he'll hate it and probably will eat normal again. I hope he'll eat better for my mom and brother in May.

I guess he'll have to Kami, I'm sure he'll be hungry enough to eat his worms and greens. they go through these funny phases sometimes, drives me nuts, but at least he ate his slurry.

Thanks Deb, but slurries are out and I use Zilla brand of calcium so do I squirt.3ml in his mouth or what? I should have asked with vitamin. I just wanna ask before go any further better safe than sorry. I used to just spray then he ate and if I switched it to .3ml it's not gonna make him have too much and get sick is it? It would be a shame to go to the vet because I gave him too much and he got ill.

I should mention not eating greens again.

So syringe fed calcium into him...he fights so only the tip of calcium gets in not all .3ml as I been trying...

As long as he gets it in is all I care about. He ate his crickets. He did lick up calcium so for some reason I have feeling if he doesn't eat normal soon my mom is gonna have to get calcium or vitamin (depending on the day) she'll have to syringe feed it. I desperately need it to be warm without storms dropping in giving us cold, wind and rain. Oh well.. It will keep him healthy in the end. Thats all that matters right?

I hand fed Broly 6 pieces of greens yesterday and today 9 pieces by sticking them in the side of his mouth. He was very tolerant of me to do this. Stayed creamy white underneath the whole time never turned dark with stress marks! Also syringe fed vitamin which he liked. Since he was sooo good with me to do this barely fought me I gave him a couple horns and wax (rarely feed horns and wax maybe 1x a week). He was very happy to willingly accept the treats. I know you guys say don't force feed and I didnt really I think of force feed with a syringe that has baby food mixed with vitamin/calcium whatever you have. Plus he accepted the food once inside on his gums LOL. It's overcast today so no outside unless the sun does come out.

Wednesday night and Thursday morning we had some bad winds! The news said hurricane force. I had a tree bust my window but Broly and I are ok I got a couple cuts but nothing major. Broly suffered NOTHING. Poor guy scared to death though. Power outage was 21 hours. I have a garbage bag over the hole in my window till we get it replaced.

So I got Broly's calcium done M-W though he's not eating much still. He used the bathroom in his bath and everything is perfect there. He's confusing, in the tank he sleeps/bask but outside it, he's very active and awake I've even started feeding him outside the tank and he does eat unfortunately for him, he has to go in the tank when done eating. He's associating tank = sleep, he'll warm up and bask after that he's off to bed. So if he is out of brumating, he's got a funny way of showing it. He's only really active outside the tank.

Yes, it's a 40 gallon so no problems with space there and the temps are 103 hot side and 75 cool side. Reptisun 10 tube was changed February 2016 don't need to change till August (unless it's a T5 then yearly I forgot what type of tube Im using but definitely Reptisun 10 tube). Either way, tube isn't that old and it's not too close or too far and has a reflector. Vet confirmed everything is in order even fecal is negative (except normal amount). I guess he just doesn't like it in there.

I know it's nothing you're doing Kami, might be the weather, might just be spring fever. It's so hard to tell with them. Cierra lay 22 eggs on Tuesday and she's now starting to eat, which is good, she lost 100g. Castiel still isn't eating, Gabriel and Nathaniel still have to be fed. Imp is the only one with an appetite over here! At least he's not losing weight and is active. They can be so unpredictable!

Wow that wind storm in your previous thread was violent! And so long without electricity. I"m glad that's passed now.

So I'm still searching for Nathaniel, he went missing yesterday, haven't found him since, even though I've looked everywhere. There's really no way to get out of the living room, but even so, I'm looking over the balcony and all the small space in the apartment, too. Not the first time he's hidden but the first time I haven't been able to find him. I'll let you know.
