I had my beardie out tonight and noticed the skin is pulled away from his nail. It doesn’t seem to bother him but to me it looks bad. I can’t get into the vet for another 2 weeks.. here’s a photo, is it as bad as I think?

Does he have a mesh hammock ? Some will get their toes stuck in them while they are jumping down. Sometimes they break a leg or get a bad sprain. You can put some raw honey or Manukau honey on it to help it heal. Make sure you have no loose substrate, sand, chips or pellets. Just keep it clean.

He doesn’t have one or any loose substrate.. he’s been acting almost neurotic these last two weeks.. he’s out every day for extended periods of time to burn energy but when he’s in the cage he wrecks it.. I’m guessing he somehow did it while wrecking his cage.. he was doing a lot of glass surfing, even after being out for 2 or more hours.

It doesn't look serious, sometimes they will even lose a nail during their rampaging. :) Are you positive it's a male dragon and not a female looking to lay eggs ?

He’s around 3 and I’ve had him since he was a baby.. I was told by more than one person he is a male.. I was terrible at trying identify him myself. When he was out he’d dig on the hardwood floor with both legs but only on one side. He has never acted like this until the last 2 weeks or so.

Do you mind if I double check the gender ? Both sexes will dig at random sometimes but if you want to be sure on the gender I can probably tell you. Just post a few pics of his vent [ rear end ] while he's flat on the ground and his tail is arched high in the air. Like these pics here [ scroll down to ]

Can you get a few more ? That pic looks female. Get one from a slight side angle with tail arched like that.

Yeah that looks like a female. There is one slight bulging tendon in the middle of the tail which can be mistaken for a hemipene bulge but that's not what it is. The hemipene bulges would be thicker in an adult male and would be one on each side.

You should set up a laybox for her just in case she needs to lay eggs.

After 3 years of thinking my Gilbert was a he... lol. Is this the age they’d normally start the need to lay eggs? This has never happened before.

Aw, Gilbert is still a good name for a she-dragon. :) And they can start laying usually after 1 year of age, some never lay and some lay at an old age [ 8-9 yrs. old ]

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
