14 inch long beardie

I want to know how much i should feed my beadie when shes 14 inchs long. any guesses?

It depends how old she is. Beardies differ in size so its hard to say how old they are judging from the length alone. At 14inches my beardie was 8 months so i still fed her twice a day, as much as she could eat in a 10-15 min period. At about 10-11 months she began slowing down on her food intake as she approached sub-adult stage. From 12 months i started feeding her once a day as well as leaving superworms (only to be fed to beardies over 16inches) in a bowl for her to pick at during the day. I put fresh salad in every day and try to vary it often, although the little bugger wont touch it :shock:

:shock: wow i think shes a year old. its hard to tell cause i got her from the pet store around 5". i feed her 8 crickets plus her vegi's and mealworms. im new at rasiing them so how much crickets should i feed her in one sitting? (ik 8 isnt enough when i logon to this website i was shock).

Mine is 14 months and 18 inches. However you may have a small beardie. Mealworms aren't advisable to feed as they have a hard outer shell that is difficult for a beardie to digest. Feed her as many crickets as she'll eat in a 15 minute period removing any uneaten crickets after this time. Younger beardies can eat anywhere up to 100 crickets per day- they need about 80% protein 20% veg, older beardies eat significantly less- they need more veg than protein. Try feeding her twice to see if she is hungry later in the day- again using the 15 minute rule. You could also try repti / phoenix worms to leave in a bowl for her to pick at throughout the day- these worms don't need dusted as they're naturally high in calcium.

and where can i get phoenix worms and silk worms. Also how much vitiamin intake should i give her? Thanks

Just answered your post in the other thread 'crickets v mealworms' about where to get them- sorry i can't help but there should be lots of places online. Dust live food 1 feed per day, 5 times a week with calcium powder and 1 feed per day, 2 times per week with vitamin powder.
