How to ship dubias in hot weather?

I'm downsizing my dubia colony so I'm about to post a very large amount of dubias up here in the For Sale section for a ridiculously good price, as I just want them off my hands. But anyway... I live in Texas, where temperatures are currently in the high 90's - so I know I'll need to be very...

Deciding if I want another beardie

It's not hard to decide whether you WANT another beardie lol - we all want more of course!! :D The hard part is determining whether you really have the time and finances to care for another beardie. Do you have emergency vet funds and such saved for your current beardie? Are you able to keep...

I know everyone likes the Reptisun 10.0, but...

Yeah that should be fine, especially of it's over a screen lid

    I lost my beardie!!!!!

If there are any little crevices that you can't see or reach far enough into to check, then put plastic shopping/grocery bags on the floor outside of them so you can hear if your beardie comes out and steps on them. Many people have found their beardies with the "shopping bag alarm" lol. Good...

I know everyone likes the Reptisun 10.0, but...

Powersuns work pretty well, but the reason you stated above is why I stopped using them - it's too difficult to maintain proper temps and still keep the MVB at a safe distance, especially if you have drastically fluctuating ambient temps like I do here in Texas. I ended up switching to a...

Confused about how to use heat packs

Hey guys, So the electricity in part of my house went out for a full day a while back - thankfully the part of my house where the dragons are housed was fine, but it led me to think I should probably be more prepared in case the power goes out completely for a good while. Even though I live in...

How much more filling are hornworms?

www.floridaroaches.com I would recommend setting up a breeding colony.

How much more filling are hornworms?

Since your dragons are around adult age, I wouldn't recommend any more than one medium/large (about 1.5-2" long) hornworm per day. Variety is always nice, and one hornworm will sure go quickly for your beardies, so maybe you could switch it up every other day and feed dubias or crickets on the...

    feeding twice daily until....

I would say if the dragon is still growing significantly in length then keep offering food twice per day. Once they really slow down on growing lengthwise is when I would switch to once per day. Generally though, most dragons seem to know when it's time to slow down on eating & just kind of do...

How much more filling are hornworms?

You can certainly use horn worms as a staple, though they're very expensive staples lol. How many you should feed them per day depends on the age and the appetite of your beardie being that young dragons will eat a lot more live food than grown dragons.

How much more filling are hornworms?

Just a quick side note - horn worms grow VERY fast. It's always more cost effective just to buy the smaller horn worms if they're cheaper & just buy extra food to add to the cup when they run out. Some members here even feed large horn worms to smaller dragons by cutting them in half (yeah...
