Help - daughter brought home baby beardie

Beardies should not be housed together at any age, if the little one is put together more than likely the older one will eat it or kill it. They are very territorial animals and mine(which is a male) attacks the mirror every time it sees it self. I would either take the one back or get a...

    Keeping crickets alive?

I usually buy 1000 3/4 inch and mine will stay alive for 3 weeks to a month with minimal loss. I keep mine in a ten gallon aquarium around 70-75 degrees and put the flukers orange cube and a couple whole potatoes in there cut up about every 3 days or so. This has always worked for me, hope this...

? about leaving baby beardie alone for a day

I personally think he would be fine a day without food, because I am in college and will leave Tyson alone for a day when I go home on some weekends and he always has been fine even as a baby. I feed him a big meal on friday before I leave along with a bath and do the same when I get back sunday...

    baby only wants mealworms

Mealworms really aren't good for them because of the hard outer shell. You could try waxworms mine loves them, but do in moderation because of how fatty they are. They mainly should be getting crickets or dubias everyday as the staple. I would keep offering him the dubia and stop offering the...

    not popped in a week?

Could he possibly be starting to go into brumation? My dragon is over a year and starting to slow down like this also. Hes only eating every three days and pooping about twice a week. Is he still eating everyday?

    The Basking Temperature Discussion

Tyson prefers his basking spot between 95 to 100, when it was getting closer to 110 he didn't bask at all except for a couple minutes here and there. I also noticed he ate better when it was a little cooler and tended to be more active. He is a year old by the way.

    head bobbing

We moved them to where there is 0 chance of them seeing each other and he's still head bobbing a little. I think he must be able to smell her. I was also wondering if this is too stressful for him to do this or will he be fine. Hes much calmer because we moved them side by side with the...

    head bobbing

Tyson is almost a year old, and my girlfriends dragon(lilly) is staying with me for the week while she goes on vacation. My question is we had the vivs across the bedroom from each other and tyson went crazy with head bobbing and blackbearding. His viv is on top a dresser and I put her viv in...

    HOW MUCH!?!?!?!?!?!?

Also im going to add that when they wait for the cricket to come to them, that necessarily does not mean they arent hungry. They usually stop eating when they are full but more the fact that they are lazy. Mine does the same thing good thing crickets arent the brightest crickets and run in a...

    Crickets for 6.5 inch beardie

Yes he should probably have a smaller size. I would say around a half inch or smaller. Also they should be eating a lot more anywhere from 20 to 60 or even more than that. Just feed him until he gets full or allow him to eat as much as he wants for 15 minutes twice a day.

    gutload?

I use the flukers orange cube, potatoes, and bearded dragon pellets. I usually change the food every three days and my 1000 crickets live over a month doing this.

when to switch to adult diet?

Tyson will be a year old in august, and I was wondering when do you start switching them to an adult diet. Right now he gets one feeding a day of about 30 crickets and a big bowl of salad. He is 17 1/2 inches and weighs 400 grams. Do you switch them instantly or do you gradually do it, and...
