i was wondering how do you gut load your insects? do you have to feed them to your animal right away? or does this help them stay alive longer?

Feed your crickets veggies you would feed your beardie and some type of protien. The sell cricket water (gel looking stuff) cricket feed and cricket orange cubes at the pet stores. I also give my crickets carrots, mustard or dandelion greens, and yellow or zucchini squash. Personally I also give them some Nutro Max dog food, some people don't recommend dog food, but I use the high quality stuff.

Make sure your crickets are in a well ventillated, roomy cage with some egg crate in it for them to hide. Also clean out the dead crickets, cricket sheds and poop every other or every 2 days. Keeping them healthy keeps them alive and non stinky.

Your dragon is what it eats, so keeping your crickets healthy and well fed is very important. I spend as much or more time cleaning and feeding crickets than I do feeding and cleaning beardies.

I use the flukers orange cube, potatoes, and bearded dragon pellets. I usually change the food every three days and my 1000 crickets live over a month doing this.
