Hello, I'm sorry your dragon has had this growth for some time now, but exactly how long has it been there? The photo you posted doesn't give much detail, and the lights are in the way too, is there any way you can take him out of his tank (out from under the lights) and take some photos from different angles, from the side, the top, etc.? That would be helpful...Also, how old is your dragon?

It looks like it's under the skin/scales...is it hard or soft/mushy when you touch it? Does it seem to cause him pain when you touch it? Does it feel like it's "encapsulated", meaning it's a lump that is on it's own on top of his muscle, like a marble, or does it seem to be growing out of him and a part of him?

Either way, there's nothing that any of us can really do to help you here, we can guess on what it might be, anything from a Fatty Cyst, a Fluid Cyst, to an Abscess, to a Tumor of some kind, there's just no way to no unless you take him to an experienced Reptile Vet (I would definitely avoid all "exotics" vets for this one, as you need to take him to a Reptile Specialist who has seen this before and know what diagnostic tests to run), and I'd do it ASAP since it's been there for a time now. They need to do a needle aspiration or needle biopsy and send it off for testing to determine what it is. It may be nothing but a cyst that needs removed, or it may be an abscess that if/when it ruptures can cause a serious, septic infection, or it could be a tumor indicating some type of disease process.

The bottom line is it's not going away on it's own, and even if it's just a cyst, the longer it's there the larger it's going to get, and the larger it gets the more involved removing it is going to be.

Hello,

So sorry your dragon has this issue. I have gone through pretty much the same type of thing
with ours that we rescued a few years back. I have to say that it wont go away without being
surgically removed most likely.
It's probably an abscess from some type of scale trauma that has gotten infected. It depends
on how deep into the surrounding tissue area, & whether it is compartmentalized or not as to
how much has to be removed.
Do get her to a vet for them to see if they can try to drain it & culture it to see exactly what
it is.
Can you think of anything that could have caused an injury there?
Is she eating well?
