You know you're living with beardies when...

Just thought we could start identifying things around the house that indicate a house full of beardies, i.e. You know you're living with beardies when...
while barefoot, you step on a thorn. When you remove it, it's actually a shedded beardie scale!

You know you're living with beardies when...
Crickets sing from all corners WITHIN the house!

You know you're living with beardies when...
Your refrigerator is full of worms and this is a very good thing, not a sign for a serious cleaning job!

I know there are many more ways that show others we are doing things a little bit differently! So, how do you know you're living with beardies?

You plan your daily errands for way before lights out, so you would be home to tuck them in for bedtime.

...when you paid for them and their in your house.

...when you spend more money on things for them than you spend on yourself.

...when you use your lunch break to go home and feed your beardie.

....when you have a stack of newspapers that you have never read.

...when your friends ask you to change his/her feeding schedule so they can see it (but yet run away in fear of the worms!!)

....when you spend countless minutes on this site trying to think up how you know when you're living with beardies

When skin coming off is a good thing ( as in humans or fur children that would be a very very bad thing)

How about having a unique piece of shed skin and you save it for the "scrap book", for instance, I have a perfect pair of sunglasses including the eyelashes outline, and a perfect glove shed on one of my boys, folks want to :puke: when they know I'm going to save it for the "baby book" 8) Can anyone relate?

....When your partner knows where to find you on a lazy sunday afternoon, asleep on the beanbag/floor right in front of the viv

Top this one:
. . . you have tons of snack-sized ziploc bags with shedded skin from day 1, each one marked with the month that they shedded.

That whole saving the skin thing is kinda gross.... Puff who is 11, I just got him, has started to shed and a big piece came off yesterday... I examined it and thought it was cool because you could see where the spikes were... but never for one second did keeping it cross my mind!!!!

.... you know you're living with beardies when everyday I am at work I am on this forum and anticipating when I get home so I can check on him

... also when you get up at 3 o-clock in the morning when it is storming to make sure he is okay (he has to stay outside for now... because he does not have a tank inside  )

You know you are living with beardies when you are sitting in a public building and a cricket walks by on the floor and you say...Gosh, I wish Sunny was here right now!!!!!

There is a mathematics teacher in the household, and bits of shed skin are fascinating, little mountain ranges or flat, almost like paper, the gloves, the ear pieces, even the little nostril linings, as are the empty honeycomb from the hives out back, feathers, sea shells, passion flowers, romanesque broccoli, wheat sheaves, etc., all representatives of math in the real world. Not bagged and numbered here, but out where they can be looked at for a while, then added to the compost pit, to make room for new discoveries! :study:
Learn something new everyday, right? :laughing6:

Okay, and I have saved the egg shells of each of the hatchlings!

1 ... you literally cook yourself in the house during winter, because you don't want your beardie to get cold.

2 ...you feed your beardie his breakfast before eating your own.

3 ... your bearded dragon eats more supplements than you do.

4 ...your beardie's diary and photo album is 10 times the size of your own.

5 ....you spend your free time on the beach looking for that perfect
piece of driftwood.

~When you're the only person your age at the farm stand and you keep pointing out random vegetables to your dad, asking if you can get this or that and some of those...(I get lots of strange stares for that...lol)

~when you have a bunch of plastic ACME or Wal Mart bags under the counter, and have a designated purpose for them

~the frige has its own space for veggies and worms and cricket food...nobody's allowed to take anything from out of there

~when you get OVERLY excited about going to the pet store JUST so you can look around the reptile section. And to see if they're taking care of their beardies somewhere near the word "properly."

~When you want to work at the pet store just to take care of the beardies...cause they don't know how to lol

~when all your friends freak about about a cricket/bug and get you to get rid of it....

~when you have scratches on your wrists and feel the need to tell people it's not what they think...

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
