Do you mean he is being lazy and wanting to sleep a lot? Have you heard of brumation? You may want to look up bearded dragon brumation and see if anything in the articles sound like what your dragon is doing.

But one of them is a sub adult and one is older

Our beardie started brumating at 6-1/2 months old. He is sleeping right now and will probably be sleeping on his 7-month birthday, which is Monday! Our vet said he goes by size and sexual maturity rather than age when evaluating bearded dragon behavior.
