Also, around how old do you think he is? He's 6 inches head to tail

Thanks for the reply! How can you tell he's a leather back besides the minimal scales? I'm really surprised he is because we got him from petsmart

Well the smaller scales are the identifying mark, that's all you look for. There are degrees of smoothness, some smoother than others, some have no side spikes. Not to be confused with silkbacks which have NO scales, just skin. But yes, the chain stores carry them because they get them from breeders who wholesale loads of beardies, including leatherbacks which are now very common .
