I got an UTH with thermostat for my roach bin but I was just thinking about something. Can they crawl up the wire from the sensor and escape that way?

The under tank heater should be on the outside so there's no cord to climb, and I would only use the prob when I want to take a temp reading. Yes, they could potentially climb it if its not smooth enough. I use a laser thermometer so that I don't have to even think about climbers or escapees! :puke:

The heater is on the outside but the probe for the thermostat is inside so it knows when to turn off the heater.
