the amazing disappearing dragon!

After LB disappeared for three weeks and then reappeared Saturday we think we know his hiding place. Under a tree decoration in his home! I watched him crawl under there today and you can't see any of him. Sigh....

I need a video of him disappearing really! We actually had his cage open for three weeks so he couldn't come back and he might never have left. It does explain the noise from "under" the cage and nothing under there as well as the total lack of evidence he escaped or how he escaped. Wonder if he thinks hiding under the tree is being "down under" sigh. I feel bad cause we turned his heat lights off and left him in the cold.

Yes. He suddenly reappeared skinny and shaky on his feet. We think he may have been sick? He is eating a little and hubby misted him today and he was going nuts wanting more and more water, but at least he is still going and starting to act more himself so no vet for now!

Since he had no water for 3 weeks, it is very important that you give him as much as humanly possible. Anything excess would be excreted during a bowel movement.
Have you tried giving him water from a syringe or medicine dropper?

We haven't tried the syringe or dropper but he was misted with water giving him a puddle to drink twice and when hubby refilled water dish (he likes to play in the water) LB climbed up a branch to get closer to the waterer, then hubby dripped more water on his head and LB kept lapping it up until satisfied! We will do the same two or three times tomorrow to be sure he is getting enough and maybe a bath Wednesday or tomorrow evening. The good news is he has 24 hr access to water and knows where it is.

Waiting for hubby to be able to help or handle bath :) between a four year old and an eight month old it's hard to get things like that done without him.

So for 3 weeks he was actually in his enclosure and at no time either of you took decorations out to look for him? WoW.

Well he has three decorations in his enclosure. A log cave we can see all the way thru and around. A climbing branch we can see all parts of also. A tree that has a hole we didn't know about in the back that he climbed inside of and up into the tree. Since we could see around and on everything we didn't give thought to looking inside a plastic tree! It doesn't help that we came home that day and found a hole in the screen at the top he could have fit through and then the next day our daughter tells us she say
w him behind the couch moving from there to behind the computer. And our cats were obsessing about our couch and a box or two behind it. We admit we have been tricked and it seems like for some reason he needed that hiding time since he came out again on his own and is mostly normal acting...at least now his screens are better secured and we know where to look if he pulls his little stunt again!

So far this morning LB has been misted until he stopped licking the water and has eaten a cricket and a worm that I have seen. Moving quicker and was alert faster than yesterday. He actually jumped up onto his one branch, even though he is still a little off balance it is improving. Will give him a second misting this afternoon and once more for the evening. Need to get more crickets for him until we order his phoenix worms. Might start a combo of the two foods to keep his interest up more!

LB is starting to perk up wy more! Appetite is increasing and he is way more active. I am so relieved he is acting normal again and today he finally had a huge pooh! I have to go pick up more crickets for the little beastie to keep him happy. Our son is happy to have his entertainment back too lol...he's 8 months old and loves to watch LB all the time!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
